The rubber sealing trim that is mounted to the rear of my car and seals against the rear door/liftgate when it is lowered down and closed has started to split and fall apart, when I try looking for the ford part, everywhere wants almost $100 for the rubber trim. This seems very expensive to me for a piece of rubber, has anyone found a cheaper alternative? This is a 2008 limited EL expedition.

Many thanks..

The price sounds about right. Those seals for most brands/models are not cheap. Have you tried Rock auto to see if they offer an OEM equivalent for cheaper?

I replaced all 4 door seals by keeping an eye on FB marketplace for people parting out their expeditions. I paid $20 for all 4. Since it’s an actual person’s vehicle and not being abused in a junkyard, I’m more than happy reusing it seeing as how it’s a “soft” part. I’ve had them in for over a year now and they are still doing great!

Wow, $100 is pretty cheap. I asked the dealer how much the rear door seal is on my '16 and they told me $900. I guess I can get it from somewhere else and just do it myself. It can't be that hard to do.

Anyone know where to get the rubber door seals and the small pieces that go around all 4 doors and lift gate for 03 Expedition EB 5.4L w/4x4? I have found some roll molding on eBay but not sure which type to get. D channel, P, L, or what? Mine are so flat I can't tell what the shape was ?Any guesses?
