I just fixed the same leak. The heater hose had a hole rubbed in it by the trans cooler hose rubbing against it. It runs down and looks like the trans hose is leaking.

Umm… that’s not good either.I have a leak too but nowhere near that bad. A few quarts every ~4 miles. Crusty coolant stains under the water pump but maybe elsewhere too. At the dealer currently but it's also in for the transmission.
My guess is coolant got into the alternator. I usually think worse case haha because then my ESP wouldnt cover a new alternator due to the failure of an uncovered part (hoses)I'm guessing an idler pulley
Right side of engine hoses were cracked? passenger side correct?Had that same issue on my 2018 platinum. Dealership changed the water pump first. That was a thousand plus dollars. 3 days later temp gauge came back on temp got in the red zone above 250. Took it back to the dealership. Found heater hoses on the right side of the engine were cracked 1300 plus dollar job. Had my 2000 expedition for 13 years and 330 miles never had the issues I'm having with this one
Good thought!!Might need to look further back, where the rear heater is.
Any update? Maybe I missed it.sooooooo.. Picked up the expy today from the dealer after heater hoses, upper radiator hose & passenger side valve cover replacement. While on a highway I accelerated to pass a car and felt and heard a loud clunk type noise as if something popped off or snapped from under the vehicle. It happened when the tranny went to downshft to accel and then total loss of power. It was loud like the tranny clunk noise common with 10R80 but worse. It doesnt want to accelerate (past 2k rpms) and notice the turbo guages dont move at all now.Engine (or tranny) also sounds weird when I give it gas while under load.
Is this limp mode? There are no CEL lights (yet) and no warnings
Too bad it's from experience.Good thought!!
It sounds like limp mode. I've had the loud clunk a few times, when accelerating, going up an on ramp or passing someone, but never the restricted rpm and no error codes. I know one of the TSBs refers to that slippage where it sounds like it may go into neutral then pop into gear. It has not come back, since my dealer performed a TCM software update, and I erased reset and disabled TCM learn. I'm not sure which fixed it.sooooooo.. I had a similar situation where I lost most of my fluid on my maiden voyage home, after purchasing the vehicle. The warning light and sound came on, going down the highway, so immediately pulled over. It turned out that the dealer did not fully tighten the cap. They had to tow it back to the dealership. I noticed, doing my annual flush and refill, that the cap gets tight at the end, but needs one extra turn to be fully tightened.Update. I could not find any obvious examples of a leak.... I picked up some coolant this morning and will refill and just keep an eye on it I suppose. Weird.
