Just got the new Software Update Thursday. Now the dash display where the speedometer does not dim down at night.

I can’t find any settings for it. Pretty sure it is an automatic desk that works off the photocell that controls the lights.

Anyone else noticed this?

My Expy didn’t get any update.
Can you dim the dash manually using the buttons? Try with the headlights off and then on .

I got an update Thursday also. The update did change some settings. I was able to adjust the display brightness using the adjustment buttons next to the headlight switch.

The sw update process resets the CAN bus at some point. An effect of this is some settings are reset to default.

What version of update did you receive? Did it contain a BlueCruise Update?

Ford has not released any Bluecruise updates for the Expos/Navis as of yet. There is no way to get lane change etc to work on these cars. I've tried and failed several times with a few brave souls willing to use their trucks as guinea pigs. I suspect the software in the GWM does not contain the events to support to newer BC features.

I have a 2024 Expedition with 5,000 miles and the cruise et all worked a grand total of 790 miles. Yes, I’m very impressed - NOT!
Supposed to get an OTA update end of October but I am not holding my breath. Not impressed with FoMoCo customer service team at this point.

I just bought a 2022 Navigator and I'm trying to obtain additional information about whether my Navi will ever see BC 1.2 or higher.

In other forums, I've heard the reason is because the hardware is different and does not support anything other than 1.0. It seems like you know what you're talking about so wanted to run that theory by you. Is the IPM different than later versions of the Expo/Navi? Or is that BS, and this is simply a Ford decision to hold on releasing the software update to the MY 2022 Navigator/Expedition?

I don't have all the answers to your questions. I have tried side-loading the IPMA software from newer Navigators onto a 2022, but was not able to get it to work right. What I can tell you is that any vehicle with the hardware for BC 1.0 can also run 1.2, 1.3 or 1.4. I know for a fact, because my F150 has had BC 1.0, 1.2 and now 1.4 (the trucks were skipped over 1.3) and they all work fine.

The new Mach E with 1.5 for sure has a different IPMA with a 5th strategy location and TRON encryption in the IPMA, so it is unknown if we can run 1.5 on the hardware we have. The TRON part is not a big deal, but the 5th strategy is. What I can tell you is that the current IPMA found in 21-24 vehicles has the config built into it for the auto lane change feature in BC, but it will not perform an auto lane change if enabled it. So the config is there, but the event itself does not exist in the IPMA or the event is not supported by the GWM. We tried side-loading the 1.4 software onto a 2022 Navi, too, and the truck was not happy. After playing with the config, we were able to get predictive speed assist to work, but lane change assist and in-lane repositioning buttons would not turn on. However, lane change assist would work even though you could not turn on the buttons, but there were constant hard faults on the dash.

What is interesting about the newer Navis & Expos is that the IPMA software they have for BC 1.2 is the BAE strategy which is the same software 21-24 Mach E's have and Ford calls it BC 1.3 on those cars.

Thank you for this information. What was important for me that I pulled from your response was that the hardware is the same. So, it seems to me that conceivably this is Ford dragging their feet on upgrading the software for the Expo/Navi series. Peculiar given the fact they are at or near the top of the lines for Ford/Lincoln.

For sure they are dragging their feet on this. I don't know what they are waiting for in the case of the Expos/Navis. However, whenever it does come to these trucks, brace yourselves for the issues associated with it. The process to get BC upgraded on the F150s, Lightnings and Mach E's has been anything but smooth. In some case, owners have been waiting for a year for the updates needed for it. It's a total sh*t-show on those forums.

F150 Tremors also are stuck on BC 1.0 and Ford has not released BC 1.4 for them which is also ridiculous. Fortunately, for the owners of those trucks willing to take matters into their own hands, they can upgrade to BC 1.4 themselves.
