All I can say is I'm glad that over and I had the use of my buddy's lift. That was a back saver. Took me about 15 hours. No more rattle.

I guess the lift isn't "needed" but it definitely makes this job much more bearable. I myself would no attempt to do this on the ground, I'm not 20 anymore.

Were you using a vehicle lift? Or an engine hoist? I thought when you said lift you were referring to an engine hoist, but maybe you meant a vehicle lift? I could see a vehicle hoist being helpful, I couldn’t see why an engine hoist would help..

He said he was using his buddy's lift, looks to me as the car is over a lift.

Yes, I went and looked at the pictures again and as you say, there is clearly a 2 post vehicle lift.. I would love to have one of those!! I initially just read the post and didn’t look at the pictures too much and have often borrowed friends engine hoists and just incorrectly assumed that he had done the same and wondered why! I clearly need to pay more attention to the Pictures in the future

was practically the same as you. Valve body replacement on the tranny failed at about 55k so they had to put in a new tranny.
