Replaced window regulator. Removed door handle, how do I insert door cable stop into retainer slot on new door regulator, without breaking retainer. Does not just snap in.

The inner door handle slips out of the regulator assembly. Look at the handle itself closely. The pin does not come out of the handle. The top pivot point will flex without breaking and the handle will slide out. Insert a flat blade screwdriver between the top two pieces. Flex the top plate enough for the handle to slip out. Install the cable. Reassemble the handle, you can see the tapered parts so it slides together.

FYI Navigator 2002, original plastics was so fragile, immidiately broke. Had to repair with copper wire.

Thank you for replies. In photo, it is the white cable stop that will not snap in.

Channel lock adjustable pliers are the tool for that job. Lets you grab behind the regulator and ease the white end into the new regulator.
