Replaced the plugs in my 2014 (at 100K miles) a couple weeks back and took maybe an hour. As usual the rear cylinders were a pain to get to but nothing crazy.
Absolutely you can clean it. Most of the electrical has water tight connectors and damaging the electrical is really not an issue. With that said though dont go and hit it full on with a power washer cause that could cause issues. I usually cover the alternator with a plastic bag.

Popped the hood and got to looking around and found this just hanging down in the engine bay. Got it mounted up and remote start is working again. Thanks for the help
