May just stick with the F-150 5.0 due to the numbers. It is a good truck and I really can't knock the 5.0. it is powerful, sounds great and returns good MPG even when towing. I dont tow more than 5000-6000 lbs and it does fine. Same load with my old 2008 expo also did ok, but I like the...
Thanks for the input guys. The 3.5 eco is impressive, but long term running costs in the 200K plus range could be rough. My 5.4 with 250k ran perfectly and saw its fair share of towing etc as well. the F-150 seems to have depreciated much more than I thought it would.
I'm working a few...
Folks,
I drove my 2008 til 250k and really liked the truck. I then moved into a 17' F-150 4x4 super crew with the 5.0 for the past two years. I like the truck and the 5.0, but honestly found the expedition more versatile for work and family.
There are a ton of prior rental ( not the best...
I have 220k on my truck and just had new upper and lower control arms installed to address worn ball joints etc. I was having some nasty popping in the front end and the old ball joints were shot.
2 weeks and approx 2,000 miles later I am now getting the popping noise again going over rough...
I just had my second set of Michelin LTX installed after getting 80k out of the first set. I've also run two sets of Pirelli Scorpions and one set of Bf Goodrich rugged terrain. I love the Michelin tires and have always run them at 40-42 PSI with even treadwear
Folks,
I have 200k on my 2008 and lately have noticed a slight creaking noise from the front end when backing up. I just put new motorcraft pads on front and rear and went through the suspension and still hear the noise.
Do you think this could be the swaybar end links? They seem good...
I have had 2 sets on my 2008 They did an ok job, but the tread life is poor. My first set lasted about 28k and this was mainly around town driving. Second set lasted 40k but was all highway. Only reason I bought them again was a very aggresive rebate and sale program
I also had a...
Ok so part of the noise was fixed with a front right hub replacement.
However after being run on two lifts and 4 people reviewing the more pronounced noise it is coming from the rear diff. I drained the fluid and had some slivers of metal on the drain magnet, which is not good. Fresh fluid...
Ran the truck on a buddys lift today and the best I can tell is that the Right Rear hub bearing is going out. The noise is barely noticeable without a load on the drivetrain.
I am at my whits end with a front end noise. The sounds is similar to brake pad wear sensors or the grinding of a rotor on a lathe. Here is some background, hope someone has insight
150k on truck and new centric rotors and pads. Noise was apparent since approx 100k but after brake job...
