ok i am in afghanistan my wife is at home with my 99 xlt. anytime she goes up hill and puts it under load it pings. it sounds to me from what i have heard of it but she has stepped up the octane level and it hasnt gotten any better. the last episode turned the service engine light on till she...- hellrazer

Poll about 5.4l V8 and mileage
99 xlt just got done putting brakes all around that turned into front hubs as well since the rotors were rusted fast. but other than that alternator a tune up with coils i have had one plug blow out and i believe that is it i have had it for 2 years it had 115,000 when i got it now its over...- hellrazer

Police Expo Owners
well i have one that was owned by a higher up in a local volunteer fire dept. Headlight Fog
i used a small high speed buffer and mothers aluminum polish when i did mine on the truck and on the sho and it took the yellowing and scratches out made them look crystal clear again. Jason -

yes in 99 the relay is located top left i just pulled mine for a light issue- hellrazer

97 xlt "Door Ajar" Sensor
i pulled the relay for the interrior lights in mine. it keeps everything else functional just kills interior lights. i believe it is the top relay in the interior fuse box. hope this helps i will be trying wd-40 method tomorrow. Jason- hellrazer

dont know if it will help much but if you got some time to wait i found my cop on ebay for a fraction of the price of anywhere else. just throwing it out there. mine has been in probably 12,000 miles now and i havent had any issues. Jason- hellrazer
