Do I have to remove ALL Spark Plugs/Coil Packs to remove the Intake Manifold?

Yes you can remove the intake manifold with cylinder 4 coil pack still bolted to it!!! For those of you not looking at a map, that's the passenger side one sitting in the back seat . . . I didn't see any way I could have used vice grips on it until it was out of the vehicle. Since I didn't...

Do I have to remove ALL Spark Plugs/Coil Packs to remove the Intake Manifold?

2003 5.4 The previous owner apparently cross-threaded the bolt on the cylinder 4 coil pack. The bolt is completely rounded off. Will I be able to remove the intake manifold without removing that coil pack and spark plug? Thanks in Advance,

What type of Caliper Bolt is this?

Thanks for all of the responses. No, I am not the original owner. My guess was a replacement caliper with 'non stock' caliper bolts. The most important thing to key in to here is the part in green. You don't have to unbolt the caliper bolts to change the pads. I had removed the two large...

What type of Caliper Bolt is this?

I finally got around to installing the new rotors and pads on the front of my '03 Expy. I had searched and read posts and viewed videos so I was ready, I even bought a socket set with a 7mm allen socket because I knew I'd need it. On the passenger side I removed the caliper first (7mm allen...

Smash and run punks get caught in the act.

Unfortunately they know who got them in trouble . . . I wouldn't be surprised if you're in for more damage in the future. This little incident won't put them away for long (if any time at all). than to come back for more!

    Quick Brake Change Help Requested

If you don't use the correct "Lube" here it can flow (between the heat and centrifugal forces) onto the rotor braking surface. I use a thin layer Kopr-Kote Copper Anti-Seize Lubricant on all of the surfaces where the rotor touches the hub. It doesn't melt or move around.

Stainless Steel brake lines, which brand?

I know this is an OLD thread but did anyone find stainless steel brake lines for our 2nd Gens? I recently installed some on all four corners of my '99 Mountaineer and what a difference, I really want some for my much heavier '03 Expedition!

    It's time to change the thermostat . . .

I bought her in mid November. According to my OBDII scanner, the 'normal' cruising temperature is 173-176˚. The highest temperature I've seen is 185˚ and that was after a 3 mile climb at 55-60 mph from 2000 ft to 5500 ft. I'm guessing I have a 180˚ thermostat if I have a working one. I have...

    It's time to change the thermostat . . .

Now that the weather is getting warmer and dryer I'm going to change my thermostat. Having done my normal research and watched a few videos I know it's gonna be a piece of cake compared to my 5.0 Mountaineer. I know I need to drain about a gallon of coolant to get below the level of the...
