    IWE Replacement

I know my post is five years later, but I'm posting to help anyone in the future who's looking for answers. Another easy way to resolve the grinding problem until you can actually fix it is to unplug the electrical connector from the solenoid (vacuum line plugs into it and it controls whether...

Rewire fogs to come on with parking lights

I can't find my order, but these are some that would fit my Expedition. https://a.co/d/hfPpTFY You can filter with your year Expedition, but I would think the 2013 and 2014 would be the same. If you want them to come on with parking lights, just splice into the hot wire by one of your parking...

Rewire fogs to come on with parking lights

I had originally been looking at a way to do it with Forscan, but unfortunately couldn't find anything for my year (2013). There don't seem to be good spreadsheets with coding for Expeditions till after 2015 or so. So what I did was buy pigtails (I think I got them on Amazon or Ebay) to plug...

    Triton 5.4L 3V Engine Reliability

Yeah. The PA salt. Horrible. My last two Ford SUVs died from rust long before any engine problems shut them down. They actually were still fine but wouldn't pass inspection. Sold them to people I knew in other states where there weren't body inspections and they continued to run them long after...

    Triton 5.4L 3V Engine Reliability

Yeah. He also mentioned that there’s millions of them on the road. Being that the Ford F150 has been the best selling truck out there, and Expeditions have the same engine. It makes sense that if there’s more of them out there than other vehicles, that you could get more vehicles in the shop for...

    Triton 5.4L 3V Engine Reliability

I’ve had 2 Expeditions over the past 10 years with the 5.4 engine. 2005 XLT that I bought with 150k on it and I sold to my dad with almost 300k miles on it. Replaced the timing chain and tensioners on it, but other than that the engine was great. Didn’t snap any spk plugs when changing them...

    Shuddering.

Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't aware of that.

Engine Shacking - Knocking on Uphill

A bluetooth code reader is very inexpensive. I have used this one for years, and it's only around $30.00. https://a.co/d/12bmcq8 Get a free app to read the codes and diagnostics and there is so much you can check and do without taking it to a shop. I use the Car Scanner app on my iphone. I...

Anyway to have the rear camera come on while driving?

Sorry, I realize I said looking at the trailer hitch, but I primarily meant using the camera to check the load on a trailer. I totally agree that there shouldn't be anything happening with the hitch, and if there is, there's a bigger problem than what a camera is probably going to help with. :)...

Do I need a weight distributing hitch for 3,400 pounds?

I have a car hauler trailer that I've pulled with our BMW 328i Xdrive on it. Total weight WAY over 3,400 lbs (probably 5,500 - 6k lbs) I don't own a weight distribution hitch and it pulled great. So, no, I wouldn't bother with a WDH for your size camper. I do have air suspension, so it...

Anyway to have the rear camera come on while driving?

Here's a link to the camera I purchased. Works great! Aside from the mount it shows, it also comes with a suction cup mount to attach the screen to the windshield. https://a.co/d/cXHnIsW

Anyway to have the rear camera come on while driving?

I would respectfully disagree with your assertion that we shouldn't look at our trailer hitch in a camera. It's normal, expected, and a very good idea to often look in side and rear view mirrors to be aware of what is going on around your vehicle - including to the rear. It would be no different...

    Shuddering.

Could be your integrated wheel ends (IWE). There's a solenoid which controls vacuum to the wheel ends to keep the hubs unlocked. If your vacuum is weak they will be trying to engage but not quite engaging. You could try unplugging the vacuum line off of that solenoid (which will release the...

Source for Replacement Lug nuts- 011 EL Limited w/ 20" Factory rims

I would assume the reason to not use an impact gun is not due to weakness in the lug nut, but rather due to messing up the finish on the new nuts. Especially for a gloss black. An impact will definitely mar the finish more than taking them off by hand. I bought a cheaper set of chrome finish on...

2009 Expedition started itself no remote starter in it and no key.

Are there little antenna things sticking out to the sides near your rear view mirror? On mine (2013) I believe those are the antennas for the remote start. Just curious if you have them. That may indicate you actually do have remote start as Jamo said.
