Hummig sound while driving
I've changed all 4 of my hubs out over the years. Each time they were making noise as you described. I changed out both the fronts and the rears whenever one of them was going out. I replaced them all with parts from Detroit Axle and haven't had a problem since. They sell through their website...- keg914

Ball joint replacement parts and ball joint press kit suggestions?
I have replaced both lower balljoints successfully in my 03 Expy. I used the Autozone rent-a-tool for the balljoint tool. Gas Tank Itringulis

My 03 5.4l does the same thing. She's probably been doing it for about 5 years now. She has about 230k miles and still runs great.- keg914

I have a 2003 with 218k on her. All of the mechanical components are still great! I haven't had a single problem out of the engine. The only issues I've had is with the suspension or the interior parts just flat out wearing. But that's to be expected.- keg914

Rear differential rebuild
Okay. That's what I was thinking. But how do you get them out without taking down the rear diff housing? I'm assuming its a C clamp design like the regular 9.75 rear axles are. I took all that out of the way as well. I will check out your link. Thank you.- keg914
