If the boots aren't ripped you could also do pre-emptive maintenance and just replace the boots. Very easy to change. In my experience ball joints don't usually fail until the boots tear and the grease is lost. If you replace the boot and repack it with grease the joint will probably continue to...- masospaghetti

Looking at 3rd gen Expeditions, what to look for
Looking to upgrade from a small 2000 Explorer, considering an Expedition. What should I be looking for when shopping around? My preference would be the 3 valve engine, RWD, cloth interior. I know about the spark plug issue. Anything else that I need to be concerned about? I don't need 4x4...- masospaghetti
