I must be using bad terminology because I am trouble finding an explanation of what these...
Where are you purchasing if you don't mind me asking. I am still lost on what rotors to get. The Centric Plain on amazon has only one in stock. Everywhere else I look has 5 or 6 kinds of rotors with long model numbers that I don't know what they mean. I would have to get the wrong one.
The z36...
Ok, Thanks to Hawk for helping me get rid of the pulsating brakes. But I still had nearly warn out pads. So I have to get a new set of pads and one of the rotors is pretty gouged out. Maybe its salvageable, but if needed I would like to upgrade the rotors.
Looks like the Power stop z36 and the...
Thanks HawkX66,
In all my years I have never heard of this. I was able to pull off 6 30 to 5 mph stops. And the brakes smoothed out.
Thanks again for the explanation with excellent details.
Every year late in the summer my brakes start pulsing. I take 4 or 5 800+ mile fishing trips a summer. I have replaced the pads and had the rotors turned a few times.
I would like to upgrade to some sturdier rotors(and pads) that wont warp every year. Lots of breaking with a small/medium boat...
Does a wider tire have any advantages or disadvantages over a stock(thinner) tire. I am in Milwaukee area with the usual midwestern snow/slush/ice. I am leaning toward 275/65/r18 to get the nearly inch wider tire, but is wider an advantage?
2010 Expedition XLT 4X4 Stock 18in rims no lift/leveling with the Pirelli 255/70/r18, need new tires.
80% unloaded, 20% pulling a 2500lb boat.
96% paved roads. 4% logging roads that are flat, lots of pebbles with occasional small ruts.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of the available...
Flex, Thanks for the detailed info. I appreciate it. I am not against any lights or features, I just want to pay for remote start and not extras.
$600 is a tad on the expensive side for me, but thanks for the info, and I will start with the viper system in my research.
Thanks again.
Jeff...
I did some reading and seems almost all the threads are dealing with the Ford Factory remote starter issues or How many key fobs argument.
I would really just like to know where start researching for the best remote starter for a 2010 Expedition. I would like to know, or know where to start...
Yea had it in for a warranty window fix and he laid that line on me. I couldn't find anything on it either. Just trying to gauge how serious to take him in the future.
Thanks.
Had the service manager tell me the rear brake calipers tend to stick and often have to be replaced. I should have pads done at a dealer in case the caliper sticks(warranty)... Curious how full of it he is? Is this a known issue?
2010 XLT 4x4
Dealer took care of the regulator under warranty, fixed a few small issues, not under warranty. Rattle on acceleration was fixed with a clamp and a new knob in the rear console. Window is working, paid a few bucks plus the deductible.
Ford ESP Administration said if its the motor or regulator it will be covered. I have a couple of other issues so I will probably keep my appointment and see if they are on the up and up. Its making the same noise in all the videos that point to the regulator.
After some research it sounds like...
I was hoping this wasn't the case. I have no intention of the dealer doing this or any work not under warranty.
I'll call the number and ask. If I am not reasonably assured it will be covered, I will do it myself or have my mechanic buddy do it.
Ill post results, I can't call from work...
I have Fords extended Warranty. Window froze in place during the last cold spell. Waited until the temp was over freezing for a few hours before trying it again.
Now the window doesn't move and there are crunching noises coming from the door.
Does the Ford extended warranty cover windows...
