I have a 2001 XLT that originally I was going to lift and run some 35 to 37's underneath. Well with the addition of a 4wd that is already lifted I am going a different direction.
I have coils all around and have looked at springs and spindles. I am not interested in dropping it super low...
If you are gonna do a body lift might as well do the 3" and be done with it. +2 on he gap guards nothing worse than seeing daylight between the body and the frame. Just looks unfinished too me.
I wouldn't recommend it. Dont know what additives are in it and how it will reach with your fuel system. Could cause leaks are ruin the injectors.
Not to mention you would not see any gains from it because the computer wouldn't compensate for the additional octane.
Was thinking that too. Think I will have my friend do that though at his shop. I already had one come out and strip the threads. I dont want to worry about that at the house. I cant take it to him and he can install the time certs if need be.
Ok just got my 01 XLT back ( long story) but it has the common intake manifold leaking. I am going with the Dorman kit to replace the intake and that seems pretty straight forward. I will flush the cooling system extensively while I have all this apart.
Should I replace the injectors at the...
Cutting coils is a tricky business. Cut too much and they have too much drop and poor ride . Cut to little and they wont line up and rest in place very well.
I am with you though I hate the rake on my 01, it is like 2+ inches.
Thanks Tony. They looked pretty simple in design and figured I would fab them up either way. I was just curious if there was like a standard size for that much lift .
This is freaking SICK! I am kicking around a lot of this for my 01. It must be a 1st gen White Expy thing lol Rewarder, Extin7ion me all the same starting point lol
A couple of questions after lifting a 1st gen 6in or more.
Did you have to get longer trailing arms ? If so were they available after market or did you have to have them fabricated?
How did you correct you drive line angle?
I am doing this on a 2wd XLT but any suggestions are appreciated.
