01 5.4 intake replacement.

Ok just got my 01 XLT back ( long story) but it has the common intake manifold leaking. I am going with the Dorman kit to replace the intake and that seems pretty straight forward. I will flush the cooling system extensively while I have all this apart.

Should I replace the injectors at the same time? It has about 160k on it now and I know none have ever been replaced.

What else would you suggest at I do at the same time? Seems like if I am going to be in the might as well get as much done as I can. It runs great (except for the coolant leak) has a little stutter at idle but no miss on accel.

Figure I will do the GOTS mod and silencer removal too while I am having this quality time with my Expy.

change the plugs and coil packs....

Was thinking that too. Think I will have my friend do that though at his shop. I already had one come out and strip the threads. I dont want to worry about that at the house. I cant take it to him and he can install the time certs if need be.

If you are going to have the intake manifold off, the plugs would not be hard to do. That would free up plenty of room in the back.
