Ok here's what's going on. I have heat in the rear no problem. As for the front I have AC and all the vents work. Only thing that doesn't work is the heat. Someone had told me that the control goes bad sometimes. It's a 99 expy EB.

try checking the blend door actuator if yours has one, thats the exact same issue my 2008 Expy has the exact way you decribed it, if so its not a fast or easy fix.

Mine had an obstructed heater core valve. There was hose keeping it from allowing the fluid to open and enter the heater core.

could be the blend door, it is a very common problem for first gens. I had to do mine recently and I got my heater to blow like a fireplace.

Another thing to look at though is the knobs themselves. At one point I thought I had a bad heater core but it turned out that on the back of my temperature knob, it was cracked and was not actually turning the switch that controls the heat but just moving around it. I would pull it off to make sure that it isn't cracked. Start with the simple things, right? lol
