How Do You Know the CCD is Working?

I'm not disagreeing, but I thought you could really only get the CCD with 22s? It wasn't an option on it's own when I was building, it was always in a package, and I think every one of those packages included 22s?
Yes CCD is calibrated to be with 22s only. Drop a wheel size or 2 and I’m pretty sure it’s pointless since it’s designed to work specifically with 22s

If your predominantly driving in a city, id guess the smaller wheels and std suspension would be better becuz at that pointt, the tires are doin most of the work and theres less with the 22s. Mines in 20s rides pretty well on city streets, the stiffness comes in handy at that time. Same goes for mtn or curvy roads, with the stuffness adding body cntrl. But on the hwy and around town, i bet the ccd blows the other sus away even with the 22s. But we still need more info from the op to help. Last time he opened the thread i dont think he responded to those posts either.

Problem is ride feel is subjective. Maybe I think it's rough but it's every bit as smooth as it should be? I guess I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to actually test the CCD system. Like get a diagnostic report, or toggle it on and off so I can ride over the same bumps on and off and confirm that it helps. The truck seems to "float" more in Eco, especially over speed bumps, but smaller sharper bumps still feel rough.

I reached out to my dealer to swap tires/wheels for 20s but no dice and I'd rather keep the 22s and just fully understand the limitations of the truck's suspension.

If possible find a stretch of road you feel is rough in your truck then go to a dealer and see if they would let you take another truck with the same config as urs or comparable on that stretch of road and see how similar it feels?

My sticker says nothing about having CCD, but I do have the 22s and I have the knob by the shifter to adjust ride/performance so apparently it's an automatic add with the 22s whether it's called out or not?

Yes. If you have 22's you have the CCD.

If you have 22s, you have ccd. A lot of features are excluded from the sticker.
Here's a pic from the brochure, show the continuously controlled damping (CCD) suspension with every package on the Limited that carries 22" wheels...

That's a great reference Nate. I don't think it has the same info online for the 302A group unless I just missed it. It specifically calls it out with the other "named" packages, but not with the 302A. Appreciate the reference!

Ride is very subjective obviously. I would think that you can feel the difference on the same road if you switch between the extremes. Sounds like ECO goes for smooth and sport will be stiffer. You should be able to feel a difference. I have adjustable shocks on my jeep and if I go from one to seven I can feel a difference for sure but if I go from 1 to 3 I can't tell any difference. Even at that, the difference isn't huge. However, the softer setting (1) is nice for long drives but it I have any weight in it I can feel it bouncing around a bit more, stiffening up the shocks helps control that.

I would be surprised if the CCD made a MASSIVE difference between what setting is set. At the end of the day, the expedition is a big truck designed to tow a heavy load, so it is going to NOT have a buttery smooth ride like a town car or luxury suv. Especially, with 22's. I switched from 17's to 15's on my jeep and that made a huge difference in smoothing out the ride. I personally like the feel of the 18's on my expedition.

Not that it makes a big impact to this discussion but my expedition handled 15 bags of 80# concrete in the back like a champ the other day. I thought that was pretty impressive for an IRS suspension SUV. I didn't even have to lay any seats down. It still rode good too. I do wish there were an air leveling option for the expedition, that weight did make it squat a little but not as bad as I expected.
