First of, big shout out to HawkX66 for contacting me and letting me know he adapted an older factory grille to his. That gave me the confidence to try this route.

Anyway, I purchased an aftermarket grille off amazon and cut it to fit my 2015. This grille is made for a 2014 and older. Here is the link to the grille I used:

Here is my youtube video on what I did and the finished product:

Let me know what you think!

IMHO it looks super cheap, I would’ve gladly paid $400 for a new one and painted it gloss black along with the thin chrome strip that you don’t have on your lower grill. To me, a truck like that doesn’t deserve to be held together with zip ties and a chopped up grill insert, but I guess for $65 it’s not too bad. To each there own sir

I just looked again. The CHEAPEST new aftermarket stock appearing one I found was $550 (no ford emblem). The CHEAPEST used one undamaged I found was about $450. The cheapest new OEM grille I found was over $700. I agree 100%. To each their own. I personally would rather save $400 and spend it on something else.

Another option is you could probably do the stock 07-14 grille from Ford for the $300 and make it fit. Most wouldn’t ever notice the difference unless they really know these trucks well. Anyway nice reverse engineering as long as you like it that’s what counts.

I'm with you I would have done the same thing, I guess they are so high is because they were only made 3 years and it is a Ford but I would do something different with the bottom part.

Not a fan of the look, but I would be very hesitant to spend $400 on a salvage rebuild for a cosmetic issue also.

My wife's Honda is a salvage rebuild and it has one of those ****** Eagle Eyes tails in the back. It was filling up with water every time it rained because it's simply not sealed properly. I took it out and based on the design, there really is no way to seal it properly. The OEM lights are way overpriced, even used, so I drilled a tiny hole in the bottom of the Eagle Eyes and the problem is solved. Car still gets from A to B.

Aftermarket offbrand version of the stock style 07-14 grille pops up for like $70 -90 ish on amazon or ebay every once in a while.... tends to sell out fast though
