Good afternoon guys,

From my research I see that not all Limited ecoboost Expeditions have the CCD adaptive suspension (i could be wrong). It's a 2019 that i picked up last summer (2020). Do you all know of any way to verify whether or not it has CCD (e.g. VIN #, the sticker in the driver's door sill, electronics near the shock mount underneath hood...)? It's feels like something changes in it's handling characteristics between the "sport" and "econ" drive settings, but i haven't ruled out that its just my imagination yet.

Thanks,
Ted

3-ways I can think of.
1. There is a wire coming out of the shocks if it has CCD.
2. What does the VIN and tire size placard at the drivers door say for your tire size? From what everyone says if it came from the factory with 22’s then it should have the CCD.
3. Look up your VIN on parts.Ford.com and search for shocks. Does the description for the shocks include CCD?

I've read multiple places here that 22" wheels = CCD. However I don't know that for a fact just might be the easiest tell. You are correct it's not a standard feature with Limited trim.

CCD affects ur ride more than handling, with eco giving you a more floaty boatlike ride that's can get bouncy, and sport giving you a tighter ride that's somewhat stiff(a navigator I put in sport mode rode like the expy I had with std springs).

A physical tell are the wires coming from the shock to a little module. But if your truck has 22s, unless the previous owner swapped em, it WILL have CCD as all expys before my21 have 22s and CCD equipped together.

Is there a reason your asking?

My 2021 Limited Max (Stealth Package) with only 1500 miles and it has factory 22" wheels but rides like an F-250 (very poor ride quality)

Should I have CCD on this model?

My 2018 Limited Max also had 22" w/CCD and rode amazing

How to know w/o getting under vehicle as i'm handicapped?

Thanks for any insight.

Not all 21 MY with 22" wheels have CCD. Mine does not. You will need to check yours as per the above posts.

Thanks for the response and information.

If it does not will Eco Mode soften the harshness?

No. The drive modes will change trans shift points and steering effort but no suspension if your vehicle does not have ccd. To eliminate harshness if it does not ccd, you will need to either lower tire pressure to mid 30s or change wheels to 20s or lower.
