Hi everyone,

I brought my 2011 Expy in to the local dealer due to some engine hesitation when applying power after decelerating and downshifting. This is their diagnosis and proposed fix:

REMOVE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND REPLACE ALL THE GASKETS (THE INTAKE MANIFOLD CROSSOVER
TUBE GASKET HAS FAILED AND IT IS LEAKING COOLANT) $1,155.00

They also recommend the following (this makes sense to me but the cost!):

RECOMMEND REPLACE THE SPARK PLUGS AND COIL BOOTS SPECIALLY THE LEFT BANK DUE TO COOLANT
LEAK (IN CONJUNCTION WITH INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKETS) $441.15

Thoughts?

Thanks

Other than the typically inflated dealer prices for such repairs, the diagnosis and recommended repair seem reasonable and in line with past history of the crossover gasket failures. If you're lucky they won't find the intake manifold crossover port delaminated and requiring a replacement of the intake manifold itself.

But if you end up needing the intake manifold....
