This is what I just got for my 2018 Limited that came with halogens (mechanic installed them): SYJIIP Compatible with FORD EXPEDITION (2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021), 9005/HB3/H10 High Beam + H11/H8/H9 Low Beam Headlight Bulbs + 9145 Fog Light Bulbs, 20000LM 6000K Cool White, Pack of 6
The high beams are bright, but the low beams have this dim rectangle in across the middle. Is that the difference of reflector vs projector. I might add, the mechanic said the fog lights don't fit, so I don't really trust the manufacturer.

You got cheap Amazon junk. Take a look at https://www.bulbfacts.com/. You can search by bulb type and whether you’re installing the bulb into a projector housing or reflector housing. Site has a plethora of information to go through and is well worth the read.

Yes, I did. And more importantly I didn't research this enough, re: projector vs reflector. From what I've read today, HID bulbs will be better in the projector low beams and LEDs will be better in the reflector high beams. So, I'll replace the "cheap Amazon junk" low beam LEDs with HIDs. And, at least for now, leave the "cheap Amazon junk" LEDs in the high beams, since they appear to be fine.

Has to do with Beam pattern, and can be completely the same for ANY LED. Even the highend ones can have the issue you very clearly showed. VERY FEW LED's work well in projectors, but some do work in reflectors well, IF oriented correctly. Many allow you to spin them, to orient them to best emit light in the direction of the reflector.

This is why Halogens work SO well, and HID's also in classic light assemblies. The light from them is emitted in a pattern all around the bulb. The Reflector redirects that light forward. LED's in most cases have several emitters, in most cases mounted 180 degrees of each other. If they are not pointed in the direction of the majority of the reflective surface of the reflector, you do not get good light transmission. If they aren’t oriented correctly to reflect the light, then it doesn't matter how bright they are, you won't get light where you need it. Stick with a good Halogen bulb, you will get the best light that way!

So I don't understand which of these two statements in blue are true:

I stopped using dd when they started failing quite often. Now I use the "cheap Chinese crap" and have great success. Not all Chinese is bad. And for the record most name brands that cost more money are made in China. Just look closely at your label.
