I have 19 expedition limited stealth edition. Searched multiple Ford forums and all the replies seem to be several years old. Has anyone found a way to keep the radio on without the vehicle running without having to keeping pushing the volume every 10 minutes? We take it to the drive in, and I have my DeWalt job site radio, but was just wanting to use the vehicle's B&O stereo. TIA.

I don’t have an answer - but wouldn’t you run-down the vehicle’s battery if you used it for hours while watching a movie at the drive-in?

Hasn't been a problem for 30+ years in all my other vehicles. Usually start vehicle between movies during intermission and let it run for about 5 min just to be safe but as long as it's just the radio and not aux, should be fine.

Typically I would put in accessory mode by hitting the START/STOP button without the brake applied. Then turn off everything except the radio to conserve power. If the voltage on the battery gets too low it should warn you and shut off.

Using Forscan you can adjust the stereo extended play timeout, this is where you power the stereo on by pressing its power button and not the engine start button. It’s APIM 7D0-01-01: xx?x xxxx xxxx, change ? to 6 for a 60 minute timeout.
