hey all. I've gone through threads and don't see this particular issue: help, please! 2012 Expedition EL Limited. The liftgate pushrod shaft started squealing/groaning. Silicone lube didn't help. I put a new pushrod in and now the automatic gate doesn't work at all. Button pressed (fob, dash, interior rear, exterior rear) and it pings once and does nothing. Should ping 5 times as warning, then open or close. Still opens/closes manually, just not automatically. It was working fine before the pushrod replacement. Any ideas what the heck I did and how I fix it?

Answering my own question for anyone else who has it come up: Any work on the power liftgate operational parts (even if it's non-electrical, like replacing the mechanical pushrod) requires cutting power to the liftgate module for 20 seconds minimum afterwards to reset the system. Makes no sense on a purely mechanical part replacement, but it worked, so I'm good.
