All of a sudden my 2019 XLT's front wipers started to slow down and within 2 days they wouldn't move.
I had an appointment with a dealership to have it looked at, but that was 10 days out and I needed to use the car.

turns out, it was a pretty easy fix: Remove the wiper blades and the cover panel (2) which covers the wiper blade assembly. There is a linkage arm connected to the motor, with some ball joints to connect to the wiper blade attachment point. Sprayed first some rust removal spray, followed by a generous amount of WD40, again followed by some more lubricant spray. At first it would not move. I then forced the linkage to move by grabbing the linkage and forcing it to move back and forth. After a few minutes and a lot of lubricant spray, it now works perfect again.

Here is a video link to an F150, but exactly the same. I did NOT replace anything. Just took the top covers off and sprayed the all linkage points...

That is a common failure, we kept wiper linkage in stock for our fleet of Ford trucks. It seems like with each generation all the parts lasted less time, the 2017+ Superduty seats don’t last at all in fleet use.
