2000, car manufacturers changed what the name of the overdrive button on light duty and up vehicles. The reason they did this was because the overdrive clutches were being blown because people did not know that you should take overdrive off when towing. Now with a tow/haul mode people take od...
It is either and intake gasket or the coolant temp sensor which is the sensor circled green on the left here http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/1/1828/741/4567870450_large.jpg.
i have 265-70-17 sra's on my 1st gen. so far they have seen 2 24"+ snow storms. i have not yet once gotten stuck and they ride real well especially towing.
Yea if you unplugged the battery for more then 10 minutes it has to relearn its adaptive strategy. It just takes time to re-learn! Scares the crap out of you when its re-learning though. I've done it on two 5.4's and one 4.6 and how you did it was exactly what i did.
Looks like you have regular spring suspension the air ride would have a airbag where the coil spring is. The trans cooler separate from the radiator is only there if you have the hd tow package<-consists of heavy duty radiator, 7-way trailer plug, drop hitch, trans cooler. if you look at the...
the e40d/4r100 comes with the 5.4 the 4r70w came with the 4.6 and since you have the 5.4 most likely you have the 4r100/e40d(same trans just new naming convention used)
I use an isimple from crutchfield for my iPhone and iPod. you can get ones with regular 1/8" jack but the sound quality isn't good. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_541PXDP/Peripheral-iPod-Adapter.html?tp=120 this + vehicle specific harness is what i use. works VERY well!
yes you are incorrect the numbering is 1234 on the passenger starting at the belt and 5678 on the drivers side. sorry if i came off a little wrong. http://www.fixya.com/uploads/Images/4867D57.gif
mine has 190,4XX. I tow with it everyday! The only problem i have had is a blown e4od.(wasn't meant to pull 12,000 kubota long distance). Burns NO oil!
I've been using either valvoline or mobil1 full synthetic for almost four years now. I prefer the full synthetics since i tow very often(everyday), higher temp ranges. I've also heard synthetic blends are decent. Just don't get the cheap crap(walmart special)! I would stay with what weight is...
You should be fine with it in D. Just like you said OD must be off. what year expy are you running? I think if you have PRND321 you either have a 5 or 6 speed. if that is the case 3 is a reduced gear= higher engine rpm's. D with OD off should put you in your 1:1 gear which is ideal. Whew that...
when she's cold i have no problems but when she warms up i have to put the pedal almost all the way to the floor before she goes anywhere above 3000 rpm. if just just slightly press the pedal she hardly moves faster than the average turtle. does anybody know what it could possibly be?? o she's...
Judging by the pics they didn't weld the side gears to the cage. You might find a shop that will replace the side gears. So i believe it can be rebuilt you just have to find a shop willing to do it...or put a new cage/side gear combo in. I would suggest calling around to see price/time. Start...
the slip joint is for when you go over a bump and the rear end moves up and down. the distance between the rear and the trans gets shorter and longer when the rear moves up and down. so a fixed/double flanged shaft would bind and break. so there is a splined piece that moves(slip-joint)... best...
if you have somebody to help(and trust them). i would say go for a drive and when it starts happening one of you get out and look and see if the drive-shaft is turning. if it is its most likely something gone in the rear end. if not you might have a stripped slip-joint in the tail housing. or...
