Have you checked the battery to make sure it is holding a good charge? The relay clicking leads me to believe the battery is going bad. When there is a too large of a draw on the system with a bad battery, all kinds of weird things happen electronically.
If not a battery, your ECU/GEM...
If you have a 2nd or 3rd gen, it will most likely happen to you as this is a very common issue. Make sure you get it covered under the 3 yr/36K warranty or you will be SOL.
The only reason it sold so late in the season is that it is going to Australia for their Summer. So yes, we are lucky.
That does fit our criteria, but we have to wait until we find out if we are moving to Colorado. Not much boating being done out there other than the smaller reservoirs. I'll...
Yeah, the savings over the winter are pretty substantial including the winterization and storage. We had year-round indoor storage that ran about $1800, then winterization was another $500+. This was the year to pull and inspect the drive, so that saved another $500. We sold it for about...
Maintenance wasn't cheap. 2 months prior to the sale, the Fuel Pumps and Fuel Regulator were replaced at a cost of $1300 ($800 just for the pump assembly). But overall, it wasn't too bad. Fuel.....well.. a 62 gallon tank wasn't cheap to fill!! We got a nice run out of it just prior to sale...
Well, after being for sale for nearly a year, the reason I got the Expy is gone. The Regal 2450 known as "Ramblin' Rose" was sold this weekend and is on it's way to Australia!!. Going to miss it, but it was just too big to trailer around to the "smaller" lakes around us. If we don't move to...
With all that dirt and debris around the injector port, I would have to imagine it fell in there when the injector was removed. Maybe it happened when you did it, or maybe the PO did it, but either way, someone didn't clear the area of debris prior to removing the injector. Glad you got it...
No need for trans service now unless the PO pulled a lot of heavy equipment around. By the sound of it though, and the low mileage, you should be good to go well north of 50K.
You can never expect a perfect fit out of the box as most Fiberglass hoods require some sort of trimming/filling to get the fit just right. I do like that hood though.
Oil is changed every 5K miles at the dealer, so it's not synthetic. Is yours a 3V? If so, you got lucky none broke. When I changed #8 a couple of years ago, it didn't break and I didn't do anything special prior to removal. If it had broken, I would not have been prepared for what to do...
I know this is an older thread, but just an FYI, the anti seize on the 3V plugs does NOT go on the threads of the plug, rather just the extended tip/sheath (but not the strap). This is according to the TSB that Ford has out. This will help prevent the carbon build-up that makes the plugs break...
I know in the F150's, the updated 8 thread 2V heads appeared about 1/3 into the build cycle in MY 2003, so I would assume that occurred across all 5.4 2V engines. An Oct '03 build should have the better heads that don't blow the plugs.
Welcome! I put mine in 4Low to get our boat out of the water, (5000 lb boat + 1000 lb trailer). But it will depend on the steepness of the ramp, and how much algae growth is on it. I could probably get it out in 2wd, but I would spin the tires all the way up. When I tried it the first time...
I replied to your PM regarding the aftermarket install, but I do have the OEM unit I pulled out if you would rather go that route. Let me know if you want it.
A CAI on my SC F150 Harley Truck got an increase of 1 lb of boost, which is roughly 10-15 HP. This was dyno tested before and after so I would think it not ALL snakeoil.
Welcome. IMO, in an older vehicle, the leather will be pretty worn. Look into Katskin to see how expensive replacement covers would cost. They are a pretty decent manufacturer of seat covers of all materials. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the 3rd row is vinyl if the car has leather from the...
I can get 18-19 on the highway. I never push the range to know how far I can actually go, but when I fill up, it usually shows just north of 400 miles left on the tank.
I have never had a leak on the back glass on my '06. Could the glass itself be warped? Where exactly is it leaking? I have heard of people inserting rubber tubing inside the seal to expand the seal to make it thicker.
AirRaid makes a decent filter, but does that one come with the CAI housing too, or just the filter? Their Cold Air Intakes are just as good as other brands. You just have to decide on which one looks better under your hood as some are chrome, some are plastic, and some are corrugated. Stay...
