I see something very similar with my truck. I have it at the dealer now. They say they can't find anything wrong. WTF?
They did find this stuck in the rad.
I have the HD towing package. I'm pretty sure it was standard equipment on the 2017s up here in Canada. I'm trying to size a utility trailer to the truck not size the truck to the trailer if you get what I'm saying.
I have a 2017 Limited. Manual states it can pull 9000 lbs but can it really do this safely without upgrading the transmission coolers and installing a WDH?
What's the closest you would go without modifying the truck?
Thanks,
I'd get the 4th gen. The limited trim level has enough features for most people. I test drove a platinum 2017 before settling on the limited and I don't miss any of the extra features. But to each their own.
WD40 + silicone lubricant spray.
I soak the all moving parts with the WD40 first. Then open close doors several times to make the boards retract and extend so the WD40 gets into everything. Then let is soak for an hour and then repeat with the silicone spay. I do this a couple of times a year...
Rear diff is always in use. I think you maybe thinking of the transfer case. I don't know if the two are in the same unit on the Expedition and therefore share gear oil. Either way, the fluid in the rear diff is going to get used even in 2 wheel mode as the Expedition is rear wheel drive when in...
I would double check the cable running from the IAT back to the ECM. Make sure you have a good connection. Do you get "reasonable" voltage values if you measure using a ground on the same wiring harness as the IAT? The fact that Forscan is showing different voltages makes me suspicious of the...
Are the bolts that fix the seat to the floor nice and tight? I ask this because I had a slight rocking with mine a couple of years ago. My wife had lost her wedding ring down the side of the seat. The only way to get it was to unbolt the seat and lift it up. When I put it back I didn't tighten...
I would remove all the refrigerant with a vacuum pump and then make sure you add the correct amount. Sounds like the history of the AC is a little suspect.
So the truck has a fibre glass packed resonator. Learned something new!
Do you think it could the cause of a strange burning smell that I smell every once in a while? I've had the truck at the dealer a couple of times for it but they can't figure out what's wrong. They can't duplicate the...
Well that sucks. Given that you are out of warranty I would go somewhere other than the dealer for a second opinion.
There are also additives you can use to try and get rid of the sludge but I don't know how well they really work.
I went down to 17" alloy rims. My wife detests the steelies I have on my Lexus in the winter so wanted to make sure her girl had at least a decent pair of winter shoes. I don't have the tires here so can't tell you the exact dimensions other than they are 17s. Anyway didn't notice too much...
Well I'm going to ask a stupid question. Are you sure you have memory button 2 programmed correctly? Maybe when you saved the settings the mirror wasn't positioned correctly.
Most of cars have this. I think, in general, it's a good idea to have one. My problem with both my Expedition and my Lexus, they display it with such prominence that you would think it threw a piston rod or something. A small orange light in the corner of the dash would be fine thank you.
