welcome back. i'd look up 6x135 17 or 6x135 18 on ebay and see what comes up. would give you lots of option from cheap to expensive. and for some cheap AT's https://www.treadwright.com/default.aspx
Agree with splintercel if its apart might as well paint it all. and the parts of the engine block that can be seen will just add more to it. You could always paint the block ford blue.
could always try something like this. it looks like a remote kill switch and they have keyless entry/start
Keyless Ignition & Push Button Start from Digital Guard Dawg
yes more unsprung weight. the standard wheels for a 2008 el are
Standard:
P255/70SR18.0OWL AS (32.06")
Available:
P275/55HR20.0BSW AS :31.91")
which is a about (32") so a 305/35/24 is about 32.41" which is about .67 off at 65mph
as fordandpolaris stated check the doors. In my dads ranger the chime would always stay on when door was open and sometimes when he drove. it turned out to be a loose wire in the door latch. took a couple years to find someone who knew what was happening. Everyone else said they would have to...

i dont have air ride on mine not sure what to look for on the front to see if it has it on the front(might be as easy as seeing an airbag like the rear). But at $200 dollars for all 4 shocks, springs, etc. Might be worth it to replace everything now. So you know it will be good for awhile. But...
adding pics so you can see the progression(i know not same angle, but i hope gives you idea of the amount of lift)
1. original
2. with 285/70/17 stock height
3. with front 3.5in lift installed
4. with with 3.5 front and 2.5 rear
thank you mtondreo. mine said it after i picked the tow program but before it would install. said 91 octane required for tow. i'll try and take a pic of the screen in the morning.
from the before pic it looks like the seats are 40/20/40, and could just pull the middle one and change it to the console. How were the seats attached/arranged? btw good job on the switch.
almost went with those maybe next time. money was tight and the extra $120 for set couldn't do. Shipping to LA was $30 a tire. so paid around $620 for the set shipped. not to bad. and the cores i got were goodyear AT's I think next time i'll get the 315/70/17's
