hard to tell but i have the same thing in my 98. pretty sure its a suspension component....mystery which one because my whole front end is worn out. mechanic said it would cost me $750 to redo my front end suspension
try to change the coil pack on cylinder 3 first. thats the cheapest and best route to take...also easy to do. then reset the code and drive it for a while. if the ce pops back up get it read again and see what that code is and if the misfire is gone. let us know how that works out and we'll...
funny you mention the plugs....i had a mechanic do a tune up on mine and i think he used champion cheapy plugs and the truck ran but not great. i didn't know he used champion until i changed them myself. i used motorcraft and it ran so much better. i should have learned then that, thats the way...
that elbow piece is notorious for going bad so don't blame your innocent finger. i had the same problem where somehow mine would just blow off. so i taped it tight and it's a;; good now.
oh and anyone who needs help with this just pm me or post here also there are you tube videos on a ford explorer. pretty much the same-they just make it look soooooo easy!
i had these ce codes for a long time p0136 p0155 and changed my o2 sensors 3 times over that period of time then i got fed up and after all my aggravation i finally took it to a good mechanic (even suggested i pay in installments if i don't have it all$) but he said that on these trucks you have...
after all my aggravation i finally took it to a good mechanic (even suggested i pay in installments if i don't have it all$) but he said that on these trucks you have to use motorcraft. i said bs. so he removed the old ones and put in 2 new motorcraft o2 sensors and viola! its not throwing any...
thanx for the read. but after all my aggravation i finally took it to a good mechanic (even suggested i pay in installments if i don't have it all$) but he said that on these trucks you have to use motorcraft. i said bs. so he removed the old ones and put in 2 new motorcraft o2 sensors and...
What a p.i.t.a. But finally got it done. Stupid oem tool from autozone doesn't work good at all. Surely there's a better disconnect tool out there. I finally got the forward side off, then tried the rear and couldn't get it. So i chopped the canister off leaving just the stem in the line...
update: replace an o2 sensor bank 2 sensor 1 driver side upstream, drove around for a bit and the ce light is back on. haven't had a chance to pull the code yet=will do tomorrow. i know it's the same code again. p0155. as for the stuttering it kinda went away but the truck still runs like...
i too would stay away from rentals for the same reasons they are not taken care of and people beat them up, don't warm them up and the 35k rental miles might as well be 100k miles the way those are driven
I'm in new york, 10701 asking $160 obo. Willing to ship but you pick up fees. Pics upon request. Comes with all mounting hardware FITS 1997 AND UP TO 2003
check that stupid line that goes from the pcv valve to the rear of the throttle body. sometimes it blows off from the pressure of the air vacuum. it did that to me and would not start because of it. its on the left side
thats what i was thinking as well, but when i checked for codes, the only ones i got were 136 and 155 for o2 sensors. but they been there for atleast 2 years. if it is a cop how would i know which one without a code?
Ok after doing some quick research i found that bad o2 sensors can cause this stumbling. Funny 'cause 2 of my o2 sensors have been bad for years and i've never changed them. This is the first time it has done this. I will get on top (or should i say under) this and keep you guys posted.
So i've had it up to here------today i took a buddy to the airport and as soon as i got on the highway she started acting up. It felt like the tranny was slipping. It would kinda stutter going up hill and only while i was giving it gas. I managed to make there and back and when i got close to...
Ok, so i was driving my 98 eb the other day (haven't taken her out in a while) and while on the highway noticed that she feels really doofy and akward. Taking a right turn and she wants to go left. Handling sucks, just felt very unsafe. Makes me wanna get rid of her and get something newer...
