i had these ce codes for a long time p0136 p0155 and changed my o2 sensors 3 times over that period of time then i got fed up and after all my aggravation i finally took it to a good mechanic (even suggested i pay in installments if i don't have it all$) but he said that on these trucks you have to use motorcraft. i said bs. so he removed the old ones and put in 2 new motorcraft o2 sensors and viola! its not throwing any codes. charged $75 each o2 and $50 for labor. wish i would have just went with motorcraft from the start!!!! from now on when it comes to sensors and stuff like that it's motorcraft or nothing! just posting this in multiple threads to help out the next man so any of you guys out there running into these problems make sure you use motorcraft parts before anything else. they may be more expensive now but trust me you will save in the long run.

Does that go for rotors and pads too. I have 45K on my 07 EL Limited and plenty of pad left so it will be a while b/4 I need these.

you can put any brakes and pads on your truck. i use ceramic pads with drilled/slotted rotors.

I heard this before

I asked an ex full time Ford mechanic (works for himself now) if my Expy would run any better or worse if I put Bosch double platinum plugs in there.

He insisted that I should use Motorcraft Quote "because they were specifically designed for the engine and anything else wouldnt run right."

Personally I thought it was a line of BS. Manufacturer brainwashing to keep you buying their gear... Which of you guys reading this have third party plugs in your blocks ? And how many of you have some kind of performance issue because of it ?
Don't read me wrong here because I can fully see OEMs making sub standard parts with sub standard materials. (softer Chinese steel in cheap rotors is one). But don't American OEMs have to meet standards ?

An interesting side note comes to mind here though...
I once rented a Ford Sierra years ago (remember them ?) It had 8.. I mean eight miles on the odometer. They said they had it delivered the day before.
Anyway. The thing breaks down twice on the first day. The AAA guy diagnoses the electronic ignition pack to be the fault, replaces it and off I go.
He said he'd been to many identical cases with this car.. Same problem. All were Lucas units that failed. He'd never been to one that was Bosch.

Aparently Ford had made a production run with Lucas and switched to Bosch after too many failures.

I'm not sure if I just supported your post or spoke against it !! :D:D

funny you mention the plugs....i had a mechanic do a tune up on mine and i think he used champion cheapy plugs and the truck ran but not great. i didn't know he used champion until i changed them myself. i used motorcraft and it ran so much better. i should have learned then that, thats the way to go with sensors and electronics. as for brakes and pads you can use whatever generic sh/t out there! just when it comes to the sensitive stuff, all bets are on motorcraft
