black ice is pretty much what we have all winter long, along with normal thick packed ice and packed snow on our road ways.
they are right on par with any of my studded tires (cooper M+S, Firestone winterforce) in fact i just got home and the temps have came up to near freezing so there is...
i either have or do run all of those above, studded they are all GREAT snow tires!
also Bridgestone Blizzaks are AMAZING i currently have those on my Expedition and they are awesome!
so you know, all true dedicated snow tires are soft compounds and WILL wear faster on pavement then regular tires!
i took this the other night, the roads have been really good recently as it has stayed below freezing and just been snow. talking about getting up to 33F tomorrow which will cause some melting and re-freeze making it a tad more fun.

i've been laughing at the national news talking about these "horrible" conditions on the east coat and low temps in MN.
we just call that another day, and our snow doesn't melt off like it does down there.
Looking good, but you can keep the winter camping! LOL my camping season wont start until May..the snow might be melted by then. (we got 6" on May 17th 2013)
as of this weekend...tucked away for winter.
yes the blue tint is the other dead give away of the 97/98s the gauges are all stock.
i'm a bit sad though as i remember buying her with 63k back in 2010 like it was yesterday.
i run studded cooper M+S on one truck and blizzaks on the other both are great options but are true snow tires that will wear on dry pavement much more then a all season, all terrain..ect
oh so we got about 6" last night but it was a bit odd it came with some light winds. we normally do not get wind with snow...really compacted the snow and made it alittle harder to push.
the only down side to LED tails is they dont make enough heat at 10F to melt the snow off
i run good new snow tires (blizzaks on the expy and cooper M+S studded on the excursion) on everything but around here your not getting far with 2wd. hell i have a hard time with my driveway if i try it in 2wd, lot of steep hills and no we dont salt.

they are calling for another 3-6" tomorrow night, but tonight its supposed to hit -20. it was -10 on my way home tonight at 5pm.
yes the garage is awesome! i need more room though we keep talking about building another shop.
finally some real snow! i measured 22" at my house today once it stopped snowing. started friday night and did not really stop until early today.
