Hey guys, looked through these forums and didn't see anything similar to this, so thought I'd start it out. I'm going through and changing all the fluids in my new-to-me 04 EB, and was able to find a copy of the shop manual, so as I go along and do all of these fluid flushes for the first time...
I just pulled the fill plug out of my 4wd 04, and a TON of fluid came out. The drain plug is still in. Maybe the last person to fill it did so on an incline, but there was really a lot of fluid pouring out, I'm pretty much drenched right now since I was not expecting it to come out of the fill...
@MrBlargMan that's a great find! I'll keep my eye out for a metal skid or any of the fx4 skids on ebay and other sites. I've been spending a lot of money on my rig lately and am also trying to renovate a new house and attached workshop, so I'll save up for a bit while hoping one pops up...
@ManUpOrShutUp the cabin air filter in this model cannot be changed unfortunately. It is in a plastic housing in the footwell of the passenger seat, and is not accessible.
The air intake filter was swapped out with a K&N around 40k miles I think and has been cleaned and re-oiled periodically...
When I bought my 04 EB, it came with a folder full of maintenance records. Went through them all and put em in a spreadsheet for ease of access, and thought I'd post it here to see if there are any obvious things that I'm missing. Currently is at about 153,500 or so.
Couldn't think of much...
Also do you have any pictures of the fuel tank armor on your rig? Would love to see if it looks close enough to mine. Just checked the site I linked and it says it only fits the 05/06 models but I thought they were all the same.
Hopefully nothing since they are all the same model year! I'll buy it and report back. Is your fuel tank plate metal? On that website it says it's only 14lbs, seems pretty light for a piece of steel. Is it aluminum?
Oh man those look awesome! Hope I can find some, with how expensive plate steel is these days it would be nice to pick up some armor for $100 or so. I found this link and it looks like the fuel tank skid is in stock, does this one look like the right one to you @MrBlargMan...
@MrBlargMan thanks!! Can't wait to really get working on this thing but the big thing holding me back is my budget at the moment lol. Also trying to renovate the place I just bought so I'm a bit pressed for cash right now. Bought the bead lock rims but they didn't include the hardware to...
Is the car currently jacked off the ground? When I put my truck on my lift my front upper control arms are resting on the coils, but it's fine when the weight of the car is on the suspension.
Are you trying to take it off completely? I have a yakima roof rack and while it was a long time ago I think I swapped out the bars from the stock ones. I know there is a lever you lift up to adjust the stock ones, I believe the bold is under the lever if you want to take them off.
Just placed an order for a set of 5 Method 105 beadlocks. If anyone in norcal has some good 35 inch 17r tires hit me up! Will post pictures as soon as they arrive!
Ahh that's awesome Joe definitely make a post when you make em! I'll update my main build thread when I do mine, hopefully in the next few weeks here. Thankfully bought a bunch of DOM tubing before material prices skyrocketed. I'm just unsure if I'm going to use square or round tubing for the...
@Vincent Vega check out my profile, I made a post in the suspension forum detailing my issues. If you know anyone who can do a quick weld for you, and you want a mild lift that will bolt in with ease, I'd recommend them so far. But I've only put about 30 miles on it since I put them in, I still...
Hey joe, still looking for some sliders? I'm plannin on fabing up some of my own in the next few weeks. I'll post pictures of it when its done on the thread with my ongoing mods.
Oh man that thing looks awesome, thanks for linking it @Vancouver Bob ! Definitely looks doable. About to pull the trigger on some used rims/35" tires I found online. If it looks like I'll have enough clearance I'm definitely buying 37's! Need to look into doing a body lift, dont really know...
Both of the front and rear strut top spacers were 2" in height. And the rancho struts added about 1" each. But yeah I definitely got more than 3 inches of lift out of it, just look at the before and after pictures!
It was a struggle fitting them in though, and if I added even 1/2 inch I...
Thanks! It's definitely going to be a long and slow process, mainly due to budget lol, but I'm looking forward to modding the hell out of this thing! May try to fab up some rock sliders one of these days since it would be pretty straight forward and I already have the metal tubing and all the...
After dealing with a bit of an issue for over a month with the Rancho suspension, lift is complete. Rancho quick lift struts combined with a supreme suspension 2" lift kit for a total of 3" front and rear. Also took off the runner boards. Next on the list is good offroading rims and bigger...
What really chaps my ass is that I got in touch with their customer support and showed them the pictures of the welds, they took a month to send me replacements, and the replacements were just as bad. It seems thats how they are all made. The front ones are perfectly fine though.
