My 2017 Limited Expedition is a really good looking vehicle; I get a lot of compliments on it.
But...................................
My windshield has a 'star' damage and a lot of nicks in it !!!!!!!!!!
Very unattractive
IS THIS THE NEW NORMAL???
It seems like anything with a bit of...
After posting my question I couldn't wait for replies. I finally figured out where the two 'tabs' were to allow the box to totally 'flop' down. The part I was referring to appears to be a 'glide/slide' that limits the box from flopping down when you open it. ITS A CHEAP plastic item: there is...
Something has caused my glove box to be very tuff to open and close. I see something on the side that is rubbing and probably causing the friction that makes it tuff to move. But, it is something that IS SUPPOSED TO BE THERE? I'm wondering if this part that is rubbing became mis-aligned or...
ooops, I should have done a search. this complaint has already been posted. I tried the turn off of wifi notice.........but ain't workin'. Still get the message. I don't want to shut off automatic updates (like if Sync 3 updates). So will wait a while and see if it decides to stop annoying...
These past couple of weeks every time I start the vehicle I get an immediate message on screen that asks to check for available wifi so to be able to do updates? I have my home wifi set up on the vehicle but it asks anyway. And no matter where I am .... upon starting the vehicle this message...
Ooooops, The sale price of the 6 quarts of Mobil One at Costco was $26 and change and the filter (An OEM Ford one) was less than $4 at Farm and Fleet (sale price). So I guess my oil change was a tad over $30 (plus tax).
But that is still A LOT cheaper than what it would have cost me for a Fully...
Well.............I will pass this along anyway even tho there are comments already about their success.
I'm 70+ years old and have changed oil in ALL my cars for 50+ years....as I stated in my opening/original post. I finally tackled the job today and have successfully completed the task. I...
My vehicle states on the tag/sticker that my tires air pressure should be 35lbs. I've always kept it at that. A while back the Ford dealer did my one and only 'free' oil change and whatever else they do. Admittedly I had not checked my air pressure due to the tires having 'nitrogen' so...
Well.......... I did some more research and did find a 2015 oil change ..... very detailed. It did look my '17' on what was being shown. I guess maybe I am getting 'blind' because when I was under the vehicle and took off the back 'felty' thing I did not see the oil plug...but I guess it has...
Hello,
This inquiry will sound like it's coming from someone who does not know what they are doing.....but I have changed my own oil for 50+ years......from compacts to Corvettes. But getting under my 2017 for the first time threw me for a loop????
As some of you know the 'bottom' is covered...
I've put on the WEATHERTECH brand of mud flaps. They accommodate the power running boards with no problem. Installation was easy too. Thankfully they are not too obvious either; which I prefer. I am pleased and they were no more expensive than other the other choices mentioned.
So?
As Long as I order the OEM ones that strictly fit in the wheel well they should do OK with the power running boards?
Forgot to ask..... do the OEM ones from Ford come pre-drilled? or do I need to 'fit' them myself?
I appreciate the quick responses. Thanks for the input. I'll rest more easy now. Guess I'll get a rag and 'wash' the exhaust at each washing of the vehicle now too.
thanks again everyone for the input
Hopefully I am not making a mountain out of a mole hill.......but........
My 2017 with less than 9K miles on it has what I think is not normal. The exhaust pipe has black sooty residue (inside). Is this normal? I've not noticed this type of build up on other vehicles I've owned? Yes, some...
I guess won't be using the WAZE option. I don't have unlimited 'data' on my phone. On a long trip that might prove to being expensive. I'll stick with the Nav; it's not done me wrong.
I have installed the 3.0 update. Did not have as easy beginning as I had previously.
The vehicle took what I thought was a long time to recognize or indicate the install was beginning.....about 4 or so minutes?
Before anyone asks about my flashdrive I 'had' reformatted it to the exFAT....why I...
I am still wondering why the instructions seem to imply that the vehicle needs to be 'running'? I did the last one with the Expedition in the 'ON' position but engine not running. Is this the way most of you do it....too.?
Why? because that is the recommended oil to use. It clearly states for my 17 to use 5w-30. The alternate oil that is recommended is FULL SYNTHETIC 5w-30. Not 5w-20. I am somewhat baffled as to why some folks are questioning my seeking 5w-30. It is the oil STATED to use.
Just to reiterate, Trying to find the MOTORCRAFT brand of syn/blend oil in the 5w-30 weight is difficult here in the N.E. Georgia area. 5w-20 is no problem...but not the 30. I can find other brands but ALL OF THEM SAY High Mileage. I really need to just go ahead and buy the Dexos one I saw and...
OK....I am starting to wonder if the HIGH MILEAGE that all the manufacture's are putting on their 5w-30 is just a advertisement gimmick? Since most older vehicles seem to have been using 10w-30 is the 5w a gimmick to get the older vehicles to use it.
I found a name brand oil that has 5w-30 but...
Well.....I can see there will be a lot of 'personal' preferences.....myself included. I too don't really agree with the 10K oil interval but......... Ford says that 'can' be an acceptable interval ..... depending on the type of driving being done. I have checked my oil 'life' % and it is showing...
Ford is who said/says so. My vehicle is scheduled at 7500-10,000 depending on driving conditions. I suppose I would choose the 7500. But my point on this post was about the oil BRAND. I can't find Motorcraft 5w-30 which is what I need. Seems like everyone has 5w-20 but not the 30. So my...
Maybe a dump question but shall ask anyway.
Oil change for a 2017 is scheduled at 10K miles. I get a 'free' oil change when that mile is reached. But in the mean time (mid time) I am going to change the oil (myself) at the 5K point. Hard to believe but I can't find the Motorcraft 5w-30 'blend'...
