since you are asking opinions of what I would do, I would replace the brake lines myself.
parts aren't that expensive.
Probably looking at a master cylinder too at this point
shocks do nothing for ride height. Its a common misconception
All they are for is dampening the action of the coil spring.
You could take the shock completely out and it wont change the ride height.
Of course you could not do that with the strut assembly in these vehicles but the fact remains...
I would consider replacing the shocks if you are looking for a maintenance item to replace as they wear out and protect all the other suspension components.
I would not be taking it on any trip with the light on and not knowing if its charging or not. If a voltmeter shows that it is charging then fine, go on your trip.
A battery charger and voltmeter wont do you any good if it dies on the side of the road.
If the dealer cant get you in try an...
I am not suggesting cutting any wires
simply unplug the motor and touch the contacts with a power and ground lead connected to a battery in order to make the window go up.
my first piece of advice is get out your owners manual and search for a power window fuse or fuses and check it (them) with an ohm meter or replace it with a known good one.
I know you said you checked the fuses but exactly how did you do it?
that would be my next move...
if you cant figure...
I am saying look back there of evidence of a missing bracket or screws etc. I cannot believe all its held in there is by the front plastic tabs. gotta have some other bracing
I did find some on ebay and it does look like there is nothing else holding it in hard to tell
if you are handy maybe...
there should be more than that holding it in. Should have brackets on the side or on the back
was it every removed with before? Is that nav system stock?
I am 58
Started working professionally on cars when I was 18 as a certified master state of Michigan mechanic working at independent repair shops. At around 30 I had my own foreign car repair shop for 4 years, then I spent a few years bouncing around Ford and Honda dealers. Then I got a job at...
I am not responding to this nonsense
I am trying to explain to you how vehicle component testing is done
here is a term for you to look up, maybe you will learn something
DVP&R
just trying to explain the wonderful world of automotive development. The general public has no idea what all goes into producing an automobile
...I have stories that would fill this board lol
and for the record this testing I was referring to is done at the American Axle Research and...
this "supposed" test is not just to test the housing. It is to test the axle assembly as a whole. After the test, the parts are removed, inspected many ways in the metrology lab including CMM and other analysis
sometimes, the axle is put on a vehicle and ran through a battery of on the vehicle...
oh deary me
another expert
if you "theory" was true the highways and byways of this country would be strewn with vehicles with bent axles all over the side of the road
oh deary me
that's not the proper way to measure ride height
the proper way is to measure from the center of the wheel hub to the lower edge of the fender directly above it.
this eliminates any variances in the tires
my guess is you have a sagging or weak spring
or possibly a rotted body mount
