ohhhhh sales are down across all brands...look for more zero interest to 72 months and ....oh crap employee pricing.
that killed the market on trades after the 2006 employee pricing....hope it doesnt get that far..
havent seen may figures yet...

but eco boosts fly off the lot....
We just bought a 2017 Titanium Escape with the 1.5L EcoBoost for my wife, got employee pricing, plus a big rebate, and brought it home tonight.

Congrats on the newborn colt in the corral!!
Thanks. It really is a new born it was produced on April 14th. We traded in her 2003 E320 (the last of our Mercedes) and now we are a five Ford family. :) The only thing it doesn't have is the interactive cruise control, but it has the out of lane feature, Blind Spot, and it will perpendicular park as well as parallel park and get itself out of the spot too. It has a ton of other stuff too. :D

Go Wolverines Brian!

Ann Arbor born....

Congrats Andy! Gee of those terrible "rumors" are right, you could have 5 busted & broken EB engines in no time!

Classy response Loki!

I just got back to the US yesterday so now I see what fun I was missing....but it's ok, I got to take my sweetheart on the most amazing vacation ever. I finally got to go back to Negril Jamaica with someone that I am crazy and madly in love with...what a fantastic place to go with someone that you love.....amazing!

Ya mon!

You know those things we USED to do in the 70's but quit when we grew up and raised our kids? Yeah, well a good friend of mine and I used to imagine sitting on a beach in Jamaica at 60 and still doing it.

I won't be that old until December but in Bob's memory (he died a long time ago), I did it for the 1st time in over 30 some years...and boy did it kick my butt but in a good way. Kind of by accident in that the first person we met on the beach happened to be the local "Happy time" man..LOL...5 hits and I was blitzed! I was a little more careful the next several times but it's all good. We dumped the last bit out the night before we packed to come home. A good memory and most likely the last time in my life.... but one best left on the island!

You were about 2 hours from my home....

Ahhh yes, the good old days. On our spring road trip an old grad school buddy in Denver reminded me what it is like. Crap, we did not have anything strong like that in our younger days.....:smokin::smokin: :insane:

Yes it has been a long time since 'them' days. :D I met my wife 32 years ago and she made me stop. She said it was either her or keep toking. It was a good trade off. If it was legal I might consider occasionally partaking but I like my lungs so I probably won't. I'll be 60 in March next year. :)

congrats on the Escape, dory does it better Es cape ei

Little eco boost, should run that puppy well
It seems like it has plenty of power. I haven't driven it. My wife did the test drive, I just rode along. (I really hate the way she drives, she is not smooth at all.) She would not be a good Uber or limo driver. - did I just say that out loud?

It is our 3rd, White Platinum Metallic Tri-Coat vehicle. My 17 Expedition, my wife's 17 Escape, and my daughter's 16 Fusion. If a year ago you would have told me we'd have three white vehicles, I would have said no way...

Yes that's for sure. I wish my Expedition had some of the features that the Escape has.

Our salesman said that the Escape is outselling the Edge, which is what we were initially looking at but my wife didn't want to spend that much. The one used AWD Edge they had was a little on the basic side. The used edge would have cost us almost as much as the new Escape. Like my wife said, she uses it to go back and forth to work and to get groceries, for everything else we use my Expedition.

Welcome back Jeff, sounds like a FUN trip. I am a little younger than ya'll and work a government job, so none of that for me anymore!

Andy, Nice a addition to the stable. Drove the Escape when I was looking at the Edge. Back seat didn't have enough room, plus I fell in LOVE with the 2.7EB in my sport!

I know there are a lot of people who like the Eco - boost engines and they may be right. But i just came across a video from Town & County TV on Youtube that surveyed their Ford technicians on what engine they would chose in a 2017 F150. I think there are 4 engines available. The results were 8 for the 5.0 and 2 for the 3.5 Eco boost. Some of the reasons were dependable, easier to repair and power is always there, it doesn't have to wind up to provide the power. I found this video very interesting and though I would post the results.

Thanks. I wish she had gone with the Edge, but the Escape is nice, it is really small, but it seems roomy inside when you are in it. I still like my Expedition better.

Here it is from another angle.

Power is always there? Obviously they haven't driven an EB for much time.

The Torque peak on the EB is higher and sooner than the 5.0. There is almost Zero Turbo Lag with this motor. Read the article above, it frames it Very nicely.

Don't get me wrong, the Coyote V8 is a GREAT motor, but the 3.5EB just works REALLY well in these Expy's. Not to mention, a little tuning and they become downright fun. My Edge with the 2.7, and a 93 Agressive tune can embarrass sports cars 2 and 3 times it's price.

I polled my local tech's and the majority said that you can't go wrong with either engine, but if you want power, go EB. They did say the 5.0 sounds GREAT, and it does. I didn't buy cars for the exhaust sound, it helps, but for the go. These EB's GO!

My last vehicle was a 2012 F-150 FX4 with the 5.0 V8. It was a fantastic motor with plenty of power. I was disappointed when I learned I could not get that motor in the 2017 Expedition.... Until I test drove it...

Now I am so convinced that the power and utility of the 3.5 TT is superior to the 5.0 V8. Glad I made the change!

I worked on the original Escape prototypes.

Believe it or not they started out as Mazda MPV's

we would get them in, tear all the sheetmetal and drivetrains out and built them into the first version of the Escape. I used to drive a heavily camouflaged one home on my lunch break when one needed a road test.
