What the heck is going on?

You are tapping into the fuse block to power your LED accessory, which remains powered until the ignition is turned off and the vehicle's accessory timer disables the circuit. Your LED accessory should tap into a +12V source that is powered once the park lamps or headlights are turned on. A...

ABS, brake and trac control light on

You stated that the wheel sensors were okay. As @99WhiteC5Coupe noted that code is related to ABS and every time I've encountered that combination it was due to a faulty wheel speed sensor. A capable bi-directional diagnostic tool, like FORScan, should be able to confirm. The simultaneous...

    2013 horn issue

The horn relay is a non-serviceable circuit integrated into the GEM/SJB. If the horn operates with your fob then it would be reasonable to conclude that the relay is functioning. Check the 2-wire horn switch connector just below the center of the steering wheel. Pin-1 should provide battery...

Puddle Light and Steering Wheel Illumination - My Experience & Resolution

There was a very similar post here for a 2017 Expy with three of your codes identified. Based on detailed information provided by @GlennSullivan, the presence of DTCs U1000:00 and U3000:49 is an indication that your module has reached the maximum tolerance for fault detections on that circuit...

Puddle Light and Steering Wheel Illumination - My Experience & Resolution

When I began researching potential causes of my puddle light and steering wheel illumination outage, I quickly realized that it was a fairly common occurrence, most often without resolution. Bits of information were scattered among various resources that were helpful in totality, but the process...

    Vehicle “Shivers”/Shudders” and RPMs pulse

Did they return your vehicle with an active CEL and no diagnosis? Identifying those DTCs should be the first step in properly diagnosing your issue.

Steering wheel and puddle lights out

Stay tuned... I will be posting a follow-up in a new thread that might be helpful to you. I just haven't had enough time over the last couple of weeks and would like to properly document my findings and experience with this issue.

    Coolant flush question

Firstly, good on you for changing your own coolant. Three years ago I decided to let the local dealer do it for convenience and the result was brown coolant that made a mess of the reservoir within a year. After flushing it again on my own the coolant has been perfect for almost two years. So...

Steering wheel and puddle lights out

I ventured into FORScan and found DTCs in the GEM/SBJ module due to a previously shorted LED headlamp. There were also unrelated IC codes that were no longer valid. I used FORScan to clear the codes and attempted to reset the GEM module, but the lights flashed and FORScan reported "Service...

Steering wheel and puddle lights out

I am now dealing with this issue. Fuse 10 is fine, and I don't recall it blowing at any point. Just noticed the steering wheel illumination was out the other evening and subsequently confirmed that the puddle lights are also affected. I thought this might be a ground issue but don't have a...

    Headlights suck, couple questions:

I agree with this. Not all LEDs are the same. The level of brightness, beam pattern, and proper headlight alignment can make a big difference. Many of the LED replacements tend to scatter light, and do not produce a distinct cutoff.

    Correct transfer case fluid?

Exactly what Trainmaster advised. If you vehicle has original fluid the color could differ from the LV you are likely replacing it with. In my case it was a light-colored milky substance. One opinion is that it was due to water intrusion, and another is that Ford uses a different fluid from the...

    Rear Washer Fluid Check Valve

The clamp worked like a champ but required 1/2" instead. I used the power washer to backflush the nozzle and it's dispersing better, albeit the result remains more of a squirt than a spray. The check valve seems to be working so calling it done.

    Rear Washer Fluid Check Valve

My rear washer fluid hose is constantly disconnecting now. A hard plastic hose connector protrudes from the main supply line, and that connects to the check valve through a thicker 1.25" segment. I'll try using a 3/8" spring clamp from the main line to that "jumper" hose. The rear spray nozzle...

    Unknown assembly needs gasket

It sounds like you may be referring to the coolant crossover tube. Refer to this similar post in the Gen3 forum. Earlier models seem to provide more accessibility so change both gaskets if possible.

    Mavis Chain Tire Store Rant

My understanding is that the "proper" and safest way to repair a tire is by using a combination plug patch such as this. Of course, safety guidelines regarding the size and location of the puncture still applies. With that said, none of the small independently owned tire shops I am aware of...

Next question! What is the best way to upgrade the headlights?

I was also a big fan of SilverStar bulbs but they are pricey and never seemed to last more than a year. I now prefer LED lighting but it can be challenging to find replacements that aren't blinding to oncoming traffic and have a decent beam pattern and cutoff line. HIKARI Ultra is what I used...

Does this $1400 estimate to replace brake lines all around sound right?

The better part of two summer days because I took time to remove and replace one line at a time. That allowed me to roughly pre-form each one but some bending and maneuvering was required to manipulate the longer sections in place. The flexible lines are pretty forgiving in that respect. I...
