Anyone use the Rancho Quicklift shocks with a 2.5 inch lift???

Oh, so they are coil overs, that explains it, I queried them on summit and did not catch them to be coil overs.

    New 2 me 1999 Ex 4x4

Well after waiting for a couple weeks for my K/N FIPK to come in, I get a call today to let me know that the kit is on back order. So I was kinda pissed to say the least. So I said hell with it and got a lesser expensive kit that they had on hand and for my troubles, summitracing.com gave me...

    long wheel lugs

I had to buy mine from summitracing.com as no auto store near me carried them for my 99. Here is a link to yours, http://www.summitracing.com/search/Department/Wheels-Tires/Part-Type/Lug-Nuts/Make/FORD/Model/EXPEDITION/Submodel/EDDIE-BAUER/Year/2004/?Ns=Rank%7cAsc

2002 Expedition EB Front End Question

Sounds like you have some worn or dry/cracked upper and lower A-Arm bushings or bad/worn sway bar bushings. Or it could be bad ball joints or tie-rod ends. It is basically going to take you to get under there and inspect all the bushings and also the BJ's and TR ends.

Anyone use the Rancho Quicklift shocks with a 2.5 inch lift???

I do not know what you mean by Quicklift, these shocks are nothing extreme except for the shaft diameter is a little larger than norm, they add no lift capability at all. I also run a 3/2 lift, and 305/70 tires. I purchased the 0-4" Rancho RS 5000 shocks for all 4 corners. They work great in my...

    trucks saggin

Shocks are not to lift nor does it support wt, all they do is absorb and soften the ride. If your rearend is sagging, then that is a sign of bad and worn springs. You can take the shocks off any vehicle and the ride height will remain the same. Not to say your shocks are bad, but if they are, it...

Weekend shakedown. 99 Expedition rehab project

Well the shocks are easy enough to be done by the basic amateur as long as you have a little time. Less than a 1.5 hrs to replace all 4, simple task, do it yourself and use the labor cost toward your new tires. The shifter handle with OD can be had at any junk yard and easy to replace. Take...

    Front to rear brake line

Just go adn buy yourself a couple or one depending on length of tubing and as stated a cheap bender and route and bend yourself. Just be sure to get the right diameter and the ends of the tubing are double flared.

    Oil Leak

That super cooler you have should except braided or rubber lines. If it does then you should be fine to just reroute your lines and have the cooler inline. If it were me, and I was going to install the cooler you have, I would relocate it up front away from the engine to get the most out of it...

    Oil Leak

I doubt the lines will work, may have to go with rubber hosing to plum it. I personally would just check the o-rings to cure your issue. Much simpler process than to re-plumming. But that is just me, and you may want to check the capacity of the Super Cooler, as you may need to adjust on your...

    new shocks :)

I am also a Bilstein buyer. But with a quick build up of the new 99 I just bought, I just put on 4 Rancho RS5000 shocks for 3-4" lift. And they work pretty damn good. A hugh difference to the junk that was on the Ex when I bought it. Cheap enough to say what the hell, and they work.

    Oil Leak

If your oil leak is coming from the oil cooler lines at which they are bolted up to the cooler, then all may need is new o-rings. Take the lines off and check and go to your local auto store and buy a couple of o-rings. I would not disconnect the oil cooler and call it a day, leave it there and...

Can anyone tell me what this is?

That there looks to be the engine coolant temperature sensor. Wire colors should be red/white and yellow/red. The harness for it should be branched off that main harness you have your hands on.

    New 2 me 1999 Ex 4x4

Well I kept looking at the front end and thought there was no definition or contrast for the grille. So I decided to paint the center section black to break it up and give it some separation. I also realigned the bumper to bring it up closer by another 1/2" to the grille. Looks better than the...

    Strange noises!

Did you by chance have the A/C on? I have seen and witnessed a A/C compressor clutch lock up and before it did, it was intermittent. It sounds to me by your examples that this is something of a pulley with bearings, or a bearing operated device as it sounds as if the bearings are locking up or...

    New 2 me 1999 Ex 4x4

Also I am digging the black rims as the rest of the chrome is going also. I intend to buy black bumpers, and grille and smoked headlights to go along with the smoked taillights on the way to me. There will be no chrome left on this truck soon. Black and Gold Mist, thats it, and the badging is...

    New 2 me 1999 Ex 4x4

If I decide to hang onto it for a while the answer is yes. And yes it will go bigger, a 6" suspension and 35-37" tires. I was looking over the past weekend in possibly doing a D60 SA up front and a sterling out back. The room throughout the frontend and the lack of a hugh Ford crossmember makes...

Cut my Cats off now I get codes??

That is advice to consider and try, but that only true to be effective if the cats up front are sufficient enough to filter the oxygen and fuel mixtures being emitted within the tolerable curves set forth in the program of the emission management. If the emitted gases emitted thru the one set of...

    Heater???Blender door?

No I would never use straight water, that is the whole reason for the rust. Water is the worst enemy to a engine besides lack of oil. But if you have a serious case of rust and sediment in the water passages. My concern would be what the water pump looks like down in valley of it. Probably has a...
