    Im not real familiar with ford transmissions but assuming it has a vent somewhere... might check that to make sure it isn't plugged with dirt.... too much pressure can make seals leak left and right

    Was the old plug loose when it was leaking? If it was it could have vibrated enough to damage the treads..... Or you could just have a hairline crack in or around the threads... either way sounds like you are gonna need a new pan just my .02
