Poll about 5.4l V8 and mileage
2005 / 109,000 miles. (Owned for about 2 months now) Replaced plugs, (none broke!) and replaced all 4 ball joints, plus 4 new tires.. HOPE thats it for a while. So who has the "Over 300K miles" Expy????- KC Dave

Road Trip Worthiness
I just took my 2005 NBX out of town over Thanksgiving. 375 miles one way, I got 18.3 mpg, running at 70 mph with the cruise on. We traded our explorer for the expedition and it is hands down a better vehicle. Comfortable, roomy, and sits higher for better visibility. In fact, it just FEELS...- KC Dave

Tires
Just bought new tires for my 05 Expedition. Decided on the Firestone Destination AT's. So far, I am impressed. So, anyone else running these tires? Good wear? Also, the spare tire seems to be the original. Anthing I can do to try and make it last? (IE: Prevent dry rot, etc..) Thanks.- KC Dave

Plug Replacement / Tuneup @ Dealer $239.00
Well, all went perfect. No broken plugs, no issues at all. I was very pleased. MPG avg on the way there was 14.9 running 70 mph, and MPG on the way back was 17.3 running 70 mph and that was with a 10mph headwind... Not a long term scientific test by any means, just used my Ultragague and reset...- KC Dave

Plug Replacement / Tuneup @ Dealer $239.00
I purchased my 05 Expy (3V 5.4L) in October 2011 and found a business card for the previous owner. E-mailed them and asked if the plugs had been changed (107K miles). 2005 Ball Joints bad.. Advice?
So, I am new here, and this is my second post. I had a 2001 Sport Trac that I traded in on a 2005 Expedition 2 weeks ago. I took the Expy to have it inspected (MO State) today and 3 of the 4 ball joints are bad. Strange thing is, I JUST replaced all the ball joints on the the Sport Trac...- KC Dave

Out with the Explorer Sport Trac, In with the Expedition!
From my research, The NBX does have the limited slip rear end, Skid plates, and Hi pressure shocks from the factory. It also has standard RSC and Traction Control. So far, I love it! KC Dave- KC Dave
