Ford updated software three times recently

The 2024 that I just bought on Wednesday says version 2427 revision 1270 on the Sync 4 screen, but the software screen says 10.1.1.

    303a but with 304a hp/tq added??

Because it's an ST. That's a special performance model in Ford-speak. So, you get a fancier window sticker and, if you were the original purchaser, an invite to a Ford Performance School. 2022-2024 Expeditions with the Stealth Performance Package are not special performance models in Ford-speak...

2022 Limited Stealth Beltline Chrome Delete RED!!!

I disagree. I think the machined aluminum rim on the Stealth 22" wheels looks classy and breaks up what would be a solid mass of black with the wheel and the tire. I agree. Red calipers scream "Look at me!" which would be fine if they were something special like Brembos or Alcons or Wilwoods...

Dealership does not honor CPO benefits

I agree that the OP's only course is to take legal action. Sometimes hiring an attorney who knows the laws is better than asking random people on the Internet. ;)

Coldsnap froze my windshield wiper fluid?

Most cheap windshield washer fluid is water, some sort of alcohol usually methanol, and a dye. Methanol freezes at minus 143.7 deg F, so the controlling factor in determining the solution's freezing point is the ratio of methanol to water. Methanol is more expensive than water--draw your own...

    Panoramic Moonroof Won't Close

Not operating the roof won't make it not leak. I agree with @Andy B. I'd rather not have the pano roof, but can't get around Ford's option bundling.

    Battery recommendations??

Maybe that was "encouraged" by the car manufacturers knowing that they'd need to be replaced more often. :p Before JCI kinda-sorta got out of the battery business, and before the EV craze, us employees got regular corporate rah-rah announcements about how the battery division was working with...

    Battery recommendations??

Nothing wrong with Optima batteries other than the price. It's a good technology that results in a rugged battery. But, I think the off-road market has caught on and there are other batteries made for rugged applications that skirt the Optima patents. Johnson Controls bought Optima 15-20 years...

    Battery recommendations??

Retired Johnson Controls employee here. Well aware that JCI management in the 70s and 80s were on a diversification effort and got into various industries including automotive batteries, automotive interiors, and soda pop bottles. But, they kinda missed the boat by not getting into EV batteries...

    Gun safe

I would have been inclined to leave it unlocked, if possible. And, empty, of course.

    Battery recommendations??

Duralast, Diehard, Kirkland, Interstate, and Motorcraft are all made by Johnson Controls who also owns the Optima brand. All production is in Mexico for the lower labor rates and lax environmental standards. I once visited a Johnson Controls battery warehouse. Racks and racks of unmarked...

I wanted to like it, but...

There's another side of that coin. Your post gave me a jumping off point, though don't take it as me arguing with you. Ford made a major change to the Explorer platform starting with the 2020 model year. Different engine and transmission. Engine turned back to longitudinal rather than...

Is this sound waste gate rattle?

It might be a part number in their service order system that relates to a kit of parts (phasers, gaskets, seals, etc.).
  17. bb37

    Noises

I've been thinking about this and my reaction is "not so fast". If the wastegate rattle has no impact on performance or long-term reliability, I think I'd learn to live with it. Yes, that's a big "if". My thinking is that in order for the dealer to fix it, they'd have to replace the turbo(s) as...

    Sudden battery death?

I had a 2015 also. Put a new battery in it. Didn't do any battery reset procedure. I guess it sat long enough to reset on its own.

    Noises

    So, it's a 2023.
  21. bb37

    Noises

What's the model year on the title or title application? What's the build date on the sticker on the driver's door jamb? There should be two stickers there: One will have the VIN, build date, and option codes. The other will have tire and vehicle loading info.

    Sudden battery death?

Check your owner's manual. Look in the Index under "Battery" or "Changing the Battery".

    2024 Expedition Transmission Leak

Removing the transfer case is a valid way to visually inspect or remove/replace the rear transmission seal. But, I think I would press them to verify the fluid level in the transmission using the procedure outlined in the service manual. That's the only way to know if the fluid has dropped...

    2024 expedition vibration

Funny that you mention that. In April 1980, I took delivery of a new Ford Mustang. At that time, you could order a Mustang with all the performance goodies from the Mustang Cobra without actually ordering a Cobra. So, my Mustang was a base model hatchback with the 2.3 liter turbocharged...

    2024 Expedition Transmission Leak

Based on your subsequent posts, that sounds like it was a guess. This frustrates the heck out of me. Why would a service writer guess and relay that guess to the customer? Ford has a simple and well-documented procedure for checking the transmission oil level. It's in the service manual. IMHO a...
