Car manufacturers almost always go with the cheapest OEM tire unless it's some sort of specialty vehicle. Be glad it's not an odd-ball size--GM was known to do that back in the 90s.
So, they reduced the material cost, but maintained their profit margin in the face of increasing labor costs. The UAW signed a contract with Ford, GM, and Stellantis in 2023 that gave workers a significant pay increase over the life of the contract. The cost of that engine cover went into some...
You might be able to use that challenge to win a bet with the owner of a new Ram with the Hurricane engine. It has no dipstick. It has an oil level sensor that you read through software.
With Forscan Lite running on a smartphone or tablet, you can see lots of real-time data from the vehicle that isn't otherwise available.
Or, something like a gauge that reads CANbus data through the OBD2 port. If there's a PID for engine oil temperature, one of these outboard gauges should be...
"641" is the Ford order code for those wheels when they are available to be ordered as a standalone option.
I like the 641s, too. If you Google "OEM wheels", you'll find all sorts of companies that buy/sell OEM wheels. Their inventory comes and goes, so you have to watch them closely to find...
The powder coating process blows a fine powder of plastic onto a surface and then raises the temperature to melt the plastic. While molten, the plastic can conform to the surface and fill in the microscopic nooks and crannies.
A bare machined surface is likely to be fairly rough at a...
Late-model F150 wheels will fit a late-model Expedition. The issue is that the axle shaft on the Expedition is so long it pokes through the center hole on the wheel thus prohibiting installation of the center cap. I've seen people mention that you can cut off the excess axle shaft.
My Durango R/T TnG also has an oil temp gauge, though you have to jump through some hoops to get it displayed on the panel in front of the driver or on the center stack. I watch it pretty closely on cold days.
What's worse about the Expedition not having an oil temperature gauge is the lame oil...
The Stealth Performance Edition Package (304A) includes "Sport-Tuned Suspension", but not CCD. Sport tuned suspension and CCD are not the same thing.
"Sport Tuned Suspension and Continuous Controlled Damping (CCD)" is option 60R on Limiteds with 303A and 304A.
I don't hear anything unusual in your video.
It's possible that you are hearing a pressure relief valve that releases pressure at the end of the pump pre-start cycle.
Ford seems to be making a big deal out of this as 2025 is the 75th anniversary of Ford officially offering SSVs.

You just might get pulled over by your favorite vehicle.

The "press M to stay in Neutral" message came up every time I moved my 2020 Edge's gear selector to N and tried to leave it there while I took my foot off the brake pedal with doors closed and engine running. Once I pressed M, the gear selector was locked and wouldn't move. I would have to tap...
So, what's supposed to happen at the end of the car wash's conveyor? I think you have to apply the brakes to shift from Neutral to Drive. Meanwhile, the conveyor is chucking out another car into your bumper. What procedure should be used to drive away from the car wash? I had this problem with...
Depreciation doesn't manifest itself as money out of your pocket until you try to sell the vehicle. It's like "losing money" when the stock market drops--you don't actually lose any money until you sell the stock.
Automobiles depreciate. That's a given. We all make generally stupid money...
I don't remember where I got the attached document. Maybe on Facebook. Interesting reading. Note that it may apply to Limiteds only. Use at your own risk.
