well I am not too sure how this works, but I removed the front washer motor (very easily done, just remove front right headlight and the pump is easily accessible) and checked it and sure enough it has seized up and does not turn. According to the manual there is also a pump for the rear window...
Okay Peeps, hoping someone can help. on my 2008 Expedition Limited (EL) both my front and rear washer pumps were working a week ago, now they have both stopped working. When I push the front washer button on the end of the control stork, nothing happens, no click and no noise from the pump, same...
Also be aware that the ability to dim the interior bulbs will be lost, most LED bulbs are self regulating so as the voltage drops they maintain their brightness, this means that as you rotate the interior light dimmer control, nothing will happen and then you will reach a point where the lights...
As stated, if it starts okay with a jump box, then it has to be either your battery, or the connections to your battery. Autozone will check the battery for free..
@twjanak
I don't want to hijack this thread, but do you have a link or any pictures how you took the mirror apart? I recently reveresed my car and caught the passenger mirror and broke all the housing. I bought a used unit from eBay but it is not power fold like my original, so I would like to...
I was going to suggest that worn timing chains can cause these sort of issues, but with just 78k miles, it’s unlikely to be worn timing chains. No idea what else to suggest, hope you find the cause.
I borrowed a spring compressor from Oriley car parts when I replaced my rear shocks and reused the original springs (08 EL expedition) thé compressor didn’t have any issues and Oriley doesn’t charge to borrow the tool. You might want to try that rather than buy another spring compressor..
Just in case anyone else needs this information, the tpms receiver is not a separate unit on the 2008 expedition, it is built into the fuse box located down by the front passengers feet. The fuse box is called the SJB (Smart Junction Box) by Ford, and is quite easy to change, but irs very...
Okay Peeps, I have finally fixed my satellite radio and GPS, so I want to fix the random TPMS error messages that I get. I know all the transmitters in the 4 wheels are good (had a local shop scan each one and check the battery level (All >80% battery)) so I assume the problem is with the RF...
Okay Peeps, My local Ford dealer confirmed that my satelite radio issue is due to the RACM, They applied the new software (TSB 11-3-3) and it got a little bit better, but the radio still fails to find a satellite radio station and reports "Satellite Fault" or "No Signal" most of the time, so I...
Thé GPS is not giving me any satellite issues, the DVD reader often gives an error message (I suspect the dvd reader is just worn out after 14 years of use. The Sirius radio is the only thing reporting satellite issues.
regards Gary
Many thanks, I replaced the antenna and no change, I then replaced the radio and still no change, still get the satellite fault error message. If I wait a while (anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour) thé satellite radio starts working, but if I turn off the ignition and turn it back on, I get the...
Many thanks for the information, have bought a new Ford radio, will also fit the new satelite antenna and then if it still doesn’t work will see Ford about the ACM. I did see a Ford TSB from some time ago, suggesting reprogramming the ACM to avoid Satelite fault messages (which is what I am...
sorry everyone, but another question. I assumed the antenna on the roof just connected directly to the radio/gps unit and operated both units. I now hear that the GPS has it's own antenna under the main dash board and the antenna on the roof is only for Sirius radio. Can anyone please confirm...
thanks guys, I thought the same antenna was used for Sirius satelite radio reception and GPS reception, sounds like I was wrong, that would explain why the GPS is showing a good signal, but the sirius radio shows no signal!! I suspect the roof satelite antenna has failed. Unfortunately that part...
Anyone know where I can get a genuine 2008-2010 Ford GPS satelite radio from? My GPS has been intermittent for a long time and now the satelite radio is playing up (could be the antenna, but want to change the radio first (fed up with GPS misbehaving)) and then might change the satelite antenna...
Thanks for the suggestion, I do have an OBC reader, but it does not show any faults and the error message disapears every time I turn off the ignition. I found a local garage that has a tool to interrogate each wheel transmitter, apparently each sensor has a battery level around 80% so it's not...
Can you explain a bit more about low battery warning? I have never seen a low battery warning, the car just reported a TPMS system fault when the batteries got low, is there some way to check if the batteries are low on the band mounted units? Once I know which units are bad I will look into...
I had the same issue, in my case the batteries in the tpms units (inside the wheels) where bad, they had enough power to perform the learning and honk the horn, but every time I drove the car anywhere I would get the tpms fault message. Had to go to a Ford garage for them to use a tool that...
So if you only have 2 chains and 4 wheel drive, do you fit the chains to the front wheels (drive & steering) or the rear wheels (drive only)? I thought Ford recommended not fitting chains to the front but it seems the best location? Just curious..
As stated, both ace and Walmart program the key as well as cutting it. Others might also program the key, but I know ace and Walmart both program and cut, which is why I suggested using them.
You can go to Walmart or ace hardware and they will copy your single key and give you another, programmed with the exact same PATS code, so both work with your car, it costs about $40 per key. I did this with my 98 and had no issues at all, I now have 3 keys all with the same pats code, so the...
