    Air Conditioning PCM Control

If you ground pin 30 you create a direct connection(short) to ground. What are the high and low pressures with the system running after 10-15 minutes once you jump the relay?

Fuse 26, instrument panel cluster, what does it do?

What is the point of replacing F26 with another fuse / wire / switch combo? Just to turn it off? Speed sensors are impulse generators - they produce ac voltage with varying frequency. One failure would be a direct short before the internal coil. This would set a dtc of implausible data from...

    Low on coolant??

Read the stickies in the Heating and Cooling section, learn how the ac works and do some simple diagnosis. Don't add refrigerant until you know what the static pressure, high and low pressures are. Clean the radiator fins, condenser fins with a water hose, check the fan operation when the ac...

Fuse 26, instrument panel cluster, what does it do?

Your original cluster most likely isn't the source of the drain. Since many circuits are connected to the F26 circuit inside the cluster, you really don't know where the draw originates. If you just disconnect the cluster it will of course stop the current draw since all branch circuits to it...

Help Identify - Ford 5.4L Transmission Area Metallic Noise (sounds like sheet metal against a fan)

When flexplates fail they sound like nuts in a can and you think the trans is going to fall out. That sounds more like a fan blade just catching something. Check any heat shields in the area for looseness. Double check the fan blade edges and inside of the fan shroud up front. Also inspect the...

    a/c zones switching

Usual spot for vac leak is near / under the battery. Follow the line from the firewall to where it sources the vacuum, you'll find it if it is there.

    07 A/C not working.

If you can bring the gauges to the Expy while the system and engine are cold you will be able to read the static pressure on the system. This is a rough estimate of how much refrigerant is in it. It will usually run 2-3 lbs higher than the ambient temp if the charge is real close to factory...

    07 A/C not working.

According to Rock Auto your 2007 uses expansion valves not the orifice tube. When you checked the system pressure, what was the ambient temp and the pressure reading you got? You can't diagnose an ac system without knowing the high and low side pressures while it is running.

See, it is always something simple once you find it. Electrical is a pain for the majority of owners but not all. Crazy people like myself enjoy the challenge - makes you think without being there to see for yourself. Sometimes you have to "think outside the box". I tell people I'm so far...

Too much power going to Blower Motor

Normal charging voltage will be between 13.5-14.5 volts. You do not have an over voltage issue. When the battery has just been charged it will read more than the normal 12.6 volts. This is referred to as the surface charge. You are reading that. Your 1.5v increase is the alternator charging...

Before disconnecting the alternator check the ac output of it by setting the meter to ac volts, place the red lead on the output stud - black lead on the alt case. Run engine at @2500 with the high-beams turned on and the hvac blower motor on high. This will load the alternator and cause it to...

    Battery dead - Resolved 6/23/19

Hate to say this but the meter is junk. There are 1000 mA in 1A so you should only see the decimal point move between the settings. If the reading isn't different with the alt disconnected then it is time to think a little deeper. Are there any additional aftermarket circuits added? We'll use...

    Electric Seat Blowing Fuse

Find a shop that specializes in electrical diagnosis instead of parts tossing. Electrical is simple if you know and understand Ohm's Law. Has anyone checked to see what the voltage is to the seat motor? As voltage decreases amperage generally increases. A dc amp clamp on a meter will give you...

    Died. Cranks, but no start

If the connector was bad that it required replacement none of the replacement sensors would "work" until the electrical connection was fixed. There may have been nothing wrong with the original crank sensor. Seeing that it was 11 years old it is a good investment to replace it before it would...
