‘18 Navi Reserve passenger seat moving by itself

memory settings and all other functions of the seat work perfectly. Only issue is the moving backwards. Service manager is taking it in the morning to try and fix it or disable the entire seat in an acceptable position before I leave for a week long trip on Saturday. Fingers crossed.

How many owners out there with no major issues?

What are considered ‘major problems’ ? I love my Navigator most of the time but it’s the first vehicle I’ve ever owned that has made me cuss and swear so much. I should note that in some of my previous vehicles I’d carry a tool box around because of the potential for failures, repairs on this...

‘18 Navi Reserve passenger seat moving by itself

2018 Navigator Reserve 21 way seat. So my passenger seat moves backwards until lockout and the motor continues switching on to move it further back several times before stopping, then will randomly attempt several more times ….. on and on the entirety of the ride as long as someone is sitting...

2018 expedition wheel bearing noise/blinker issue

Had both my front wheel bearings replaced before 50k so I’m not surprised reading about yalls replacements. At least I’ll get my money worth out of my extended warranty.

    Anyone experienced transfer case issues?

Drove around with service tech today. He thinks it’s a misfire again. No codes. They come and get it in a couple weeks.

Start battery finally gave out, what’s the preferred replacement?

I religiously turn off the ASS so I’m not as hard on the battery as the manufacturer would assume and I have used a charger in the past. I may throw it on the charger if I know I won’t be driving it for a day or so once every few months… not a bad thought.

    Anyone experienced transfer case issues?

Updating this thread. Vehicle was in for service and I had them look at this issue. They claimed it was a misfire in #3 that was causing the jumping skipping whatever it’s doing. Weird because it only does it while in a 4x4 mode and never in 2x. I asked if they drove and tested it, service...

Start battery finally gave out, what’s the preferred replacement?

Thanks for all the replies! I ended up just having the dealer replace it. The had the vehicle for 10 days for the oil change, front passenger seat moving by itself, a terrible squeak in the front seat, and some weird skipping issues with the transfer case. I just don’t have the will to work...

Start battery finally gave out, what’s the preferred replacement?

‘18 Navigator Reserve Service manager called and said I need a new battery… this didn’t come as a surprise as mine is 4 years old and I’ve been having the tale tale signs of imminent failure… ie interior lights shutting off quickly, touch door lock issues etc… What’s the consensus on the best...

    Love this vehicle

Meh, that’s just around double the payload capacity.

    2018!Failed right front wheel bearing

There’s another thread floating around with this same topic. Apparently, these hub assemblies are filled with hopes and dreams and .144 caliber bb’s for bearings. I know this first had as well, both my fronts were changed just shy of 50k on the clock.

    Anyone experienced transfer case issues?

I’ve tired this but the shift from 2 to 1 is super rough. When I’m using 4L I’m going 30mph or less so downshifting with the paddles will work but 4L is a million times easier.

Does Anybody Here Worry About Rust?

Rust, no… not really. I feel like electrical or mechanical issues will be the downfall way before rust.

Bad wheel bearing at only 30k miles!

This is reassuring… so glad we opted for the extended warranty. We plan to bail on this vehicle just before the warranty expires, I just don’t have the guts to stick with it past that point.

    Anyone experienced transfer case issues?

Agree with your ramp usage example. My main use is hilly forest service roads, especially where long stretches of down hill driving occurs. This allows for engine braking instead of actual brake pedal usage. I’ve done the brake pedal in the past and the binders just aren’t up to the task...

    Anyone experienced transfer case issues?

I called the dealership today to ask about this issue and if it’s something they have dealt with and could it wait for my next service. The service manager actually told me they see this a couple times a month! This is at a small dealership in our town. Ugh.

    Anyone experienced transfer case issues?

So it’s skipping right out the gate way before making a shift. It’s clearly half engaged to the point that going any further sounds like it would cause damage.

    Anyone experienced transfer case issues?

It’s doing it on both gravel and the road.

Bad wheel bearing at only 30k miles!

I run mine in 4x4 and 4L often and I’m having issues with the transfer case, the wheel hub issue was completely unrelated.

    Anyone experienced transfer case issues?

2018 Navigator Reserve 4x4 and tow package. I’m having an issue when I engage 4L. Once engaged it behaves like it’s not completely engaged and it immediately lunges and pops under throttle. I stop, disengage, move a little and engage again. After a couple attempts it works. Recently I’m...

Bad wheel bearing at only 30k miles!

Mine was really subtle so I don’t think I could have captured it. I will say that the dealer said there was no issue at first but I pressed them on it and they went back out with some type of stethoscope attachment that plugged into a sensor plug on the hub and they were able to diagnose it...

Bad wheel bearing at only 30k miles!

Mid 40k milage I had an issue with mine as well, it was both the fronts. Come to find out the Navigator really doesn’t like tearing through forest service roads…doggone pavement princess.

    Weathertechs in 2021 Navigator

@TX-EXPMAX here are some pics. Excuse the dirt, I haven’t pressure washed these since our last camping trip. The color match is about as close as you can get with a plastic or rubber mat. The carpet adds a depth which enhances the color, this is impossible to recreate in with plastic 4th pic...

    Weathertechs in 2021 Navigator

I have a ‘18 Navigator with the Cappuccino interior and a set of weathertechs that I run in the 2nd row and trunk 100% of the time and occasionally in the front when I plan on getting dirty. They match pretty well, I can post some pics tomorrow. My main complaint is they are curling up on the...

Airing down tires on 22" wheels for off-roading

I have ran down forest service roads a ton and I never air down and I’ve never had any issues. However? I have had both my front wheel bearings replaced following a spirited trek down said roads… thankfully they were done under warranty. My vote is don’t air down.
