    Aftermarket brake controller suggestions

This is what I have, has worked out great.

Brake light, ABS light and traction control lights

Attempted to swap out the right rear sensor and well that didn't go as planned. Not much on net to show steps needed, just found one video for an Expy on front wheels. Figured it'd be similar, but it's not really. Got wheel off, caliper and rotor off and figured it'd just be a matter of removing...

Brake light, ABS light and traction control lights

2010 Expy. Was hoping I could figure it out and avoid the shop fees and hopefully just swap in a new sensor. Really hoping it's not the ABS ECU. Seems to come and go, not sure if breaking triggers it or bouncing down the road, haven't figured that out yet.

Brake light, ABS light and traction control lights

I have an OBDLink Obd2 scanner as well, but unless I'm not reading it correctly it gives a vague somewhat answer... I assume this is telling me right-side issue, but not front or back.

Brake light, ABS light and traction control lights

This appears to have reared it's ugly head today to me all a sudden. 3 lights on dash lit up, ABS, Brake and Skid-control as well as warning to check Brake system and Service Advance Trac. Will take it by my local mechanic Monday and hopefully it's just a sensor gone bad. They installed sumo...

    Towing

Brons2, I'm in the same boat as you. My payload on my Expy is 1406. We tow a 30' trailer, 7400lbs, tongue weight around 750-800 depending on how I pack. It's the wife and I and a couple of dogs, one weighs 120lbs. It's been a long process of adjustments to WDH and now just recently utilizing the...

    Towing

I highly recommend the michelin defender ltx 275/55r20 tires. I'm on my second set. They have been great in all around conditions and tow very well. I run at factory specs 35 psi, and air up to their 44 max psi when towing. Do some searches on this forum and you will see a lot of feedback on...

    Towing

I'm not familiar with the tire, but from what I just read they are a tire made my Kumho and sold by Discount Tire perhaps? How much tread is on the tire? If the tires have a lot of meat on them I see no reason not to use them. If they are getting towards end of life, then I would perhaps replace...

Hoping my new truck can tow this

As you stated in your other thread, you planned to travel with 8 people in tow. What does the payload sticker of the new XLT say? My guess is that trailer would have 900lb-1000lb tongue when your loaded for your trip, but maybe not.

Hellwig front sway bar install, any suggestions...

Went ahead and used the ramps I had and did it in the grass which then they can't slide away as I try to go up them with the Expy. Was simple enough I guess. The end links were a bit of a pain, mostly because my tool set for some reason decided nobody needs an 18mm wrench. Came with 17mm and...

Hellwig front sway bar install, any suggestions...

I could try using my plastic ramps in the grass and they may get it up but I what I don't understand is if I raise the front will the rear need to be raised to make the car level? Not sure if there is an issue of having just the front up on ramps to install the front sway bar?

Hellwig front sway bar install, any suggestions...

Got my front sway bar from Summit this week, rear is on back order. Figured it'd be a simple install but now that I read the instructions it says the vehicle should be on the ground, not raised by frame and there is no way I can fit under the truck this way and work. I don't have ramps, well I...

    Towing and weight issues.

Yep, I tow a 30' TT, payload is low 1406 on a reg size 2010 Expy with HD tow. Went on a trip a couple of weeks ago and swung by the Cat for the 3rd time this year as I tweak my loading and settings. 2 adults, 1 large dog, one small dog, one small cooler, one small dog crate in vehicle...

    Towing

A 10,000lb WDH would do just fine for that load. As others have said, get the WDH dialed in. Tires aired up and be mindful of your tongue weight when loaded for a trip. Best thing I ever did was finally take my set up to a CAT scale and learn how to use it and use those numbers to really dial in...

    towing frustration

I think the issue for the OP would be not the weight of the trailer, it's the payload of carrying 8 passengers plus tongue weight on an Expy.

    towing frustration

Unfortunately it sounds like what you have in mind will not work with any Expy. If you are traveling with 8 there is no way an Expy can pull a trailer for 8 plus 8 in the tow vehicle without being severely over the payload limit of the Expy. HD tow or not. That is F250/2500 class and up realm...

    Grand design 26 ft trailer

That's too much weight without the HD tow package. With the HD tow package it's at the limit. My trailer is exactly that size and spec and I'm constantly hitting the payload of the vehicle limit, not the tow limit, with just 2 adults and a large dog and that's with HD tow package.

Photos of Trailer(s) that you tow with your Expedition

Won't know till you try. Regarding the 7 vs 8 washers just make sure the front end spacing of the truck returns to as close as it is when not hooked up. If you haven't already, take your set up when prepared for a trip and go and use a CAT scale. It'll really tell you what's going on regarding...

Photos of Trailer(s) that you tow with your Expedition

Yeah, I had a dealer do mine after I originally installed it and it still wasn't correct. Took me a good year of trips tweaking it to get it right where I wanted. And even now it's still a work in progress. I too have an Equalizer WDH. From your picture it looks like they choked up the arm...

Looks like you may need to raise that WDH hitch up one hole.

    Lower blend door solutions?

I did this job this weekend and it was an absolute nightmare. This is the blend door motor that is all the way at the bottom of the dash up against the firewall and is a huge pain in the rear to get out. The dealer proper job requires dash removal, fluids and heater-core removal and about...

Any idea how much Ford dealer charges for front floor mats?

I need to replace my front floor mats and I'm just curious if anyone has an idea how much a pair from the dealer might be with "Expedition" across the mat? Apparently Ford does not allow 3rd party makers to use Ford logos or Vehicle names so you must get their stuff. A pair of plain Lloyd...

    Sunroof repair

Finally got over my procrastination and dread of doing this job after buying a repair kit in Sep of last year and did this job over the weekend. I had purchased a cheaper knock-off kit from Amazon not wanting to pay the Sunroof Doctor kit price. This may come back to haunt me, but we'll see...

    Lower blend door solutions?

I've had the dreaded lower blend door clicking going on 2 years now in my 2010 EB Expy. I've debated doing the job, paying someone to do the job, or leaving it as is. There just seems no easy way to correct it and I'm considering selling the vehicle but would hate to take the hit on it fixing it...

How to use a CAT scale for RV and truck towing?

You would think that Ford would be aware of the need. Unless there is a limitation physics-wise that it couldn't be done, a High Capacity Payload option on and Expy would be amazing. For me an XLT wouldn't work out. To get the wife to spend this kind of money she wants beyond utilitarian, she...
