I have read through several threads about possible problems but wanted to post my own question. I have been very hesitant to consider an EL (or Max) equipped with the 3.5 EB. I previously had a 2011 Expedition with the 5.4 and really did like it. The engine did not give me any problems and...
I sold my 2011 expedition XLT last year and have been wanting to get an EL because of our family size for trips. I was only wanting to get a 2014 or 2013 because of the 5.4 Triton but have considered the 2015 through 2017 3.5 eco boost.
My question is, is the eco boost in the 15-17 the 2nd...
2011 XLT, Truck has 155k on it. I drained & filled the rear differential at 95k, when I bought it. I just did this drain & fill again yesterday. Upon removing the FILL plug I found this piece of metal stuck to the magnet. When I pulled the DRAIN plug there was the usual very fine metallic on the...
Wife drove my 2011 XLT to work. She ran some errands etc during the day. Then she calls as she was a out to leave work. She states the brake pedal is going all the way to the floor before taking it out of park. I go up there, fluid is pretty low, below the min line. I have a bottle of Valvoline...
Has anyone done this to their Expy? I have a 2011 XLT & will prob be doing a new accessory drive belt along with cat back exhaust soon. Figured while I have the belt off it be a good time to switch out..
I've owned the truck since ~96k & have done the usual oil/filter, transmission drain/fill, rear differential drain/fill.. I had been hesitant on doing the spark plugs bc of all of the hoor stories on breaking them (even tho I believe mine had the news style)
Anyway, ordered new plugs & coil...
I have an '11 XLT that I'm considering putting just a flowmaster muffler on. I have measured as best I could (with string measure around then divide that length by 3.14) What I came up with was 2.71" inlet & 2.6" on the exit.
Can anyone advise as to what size I need to look at buying. I'm also...
Whenever I turn the passenger side air to less than 65° I get a loud clicking sound for approximately 30 sec to a minute. If I turn the temp back up it stops. Truck has 115k with no electrical issues.
Any idea what this could be?

So question is, is the replacement part titled wheel bearing hub assembly? Seems what...
Has anyone here actually bought the Stage 3 Motorsports package for the Expy? Tuner, exhaust, intake.. Just wondering what real world gains you saw & if it's actually worth their $1,300 price?
I have a 2011 XLT. Non-extended length. I will be taking the family on a long road trip in the fall. I've made this trip before but this year our SIL will be riding along. This puts me driving, wife in front passenger, 1 yr old twins outside middle seats, 4yr old center middle. SIL is small &...
I have a 2011 XLT that the wife smashed the drivers running board. It is still functional but wanted to replace it as it is an eye sore. Anyone have any pictures of what you put on yours or links to factory replacements that don't cost $600?
I have read a lot of the conversions & piecing together of headlight parts. I would love to do that but have neither the time nor the money. What's the easiest way to get brighter light. Stock lights are mediocre, just looking for better vision at night.
I bought an '11 XLT 2WD with 93k not too long ago. I have noticed that there are a lot of roads missing from my map. Is there some way to update this? I looked in the manual but may have missed it.
Greetings from CLT NC. As the title says 2011 XLT loaded with everything but 4x4 & DVD player. Just bought with 93k and according to the Carfax was meticulously maintained. Never owned a Ford before so any common prob I should look for? Edit: Just found the 3rd gen forum..
Hope to learn much...
