racenut, thanks so much for your explanation, the dealer put in fully synthetic gear oil 140 wt. they said that they would no longer use the 90 wt accross all ford models. i just got my friction modifier additive but its not the motorcraft brand, its called equa-torque from pep boys, il get...- dunkinx

no additive was put in, are 02 and 03 diffs with lsd the same? if its the same il try the royal purple oil, il be getting my additive in a few days. dealer didnt have stock. any idea what could happen if we just let it shudder, without fixing anything- dunkinx

good day guys, been a lurker for quite some time now, and this site has been very helpful, I own a 2003 expedition with the dreaded shudder from the rear diff lsd, it has only done 13,000 miles since brand new, I know its vey low because we seldom use it. I just had my gear oil changed...- dunkinx
