    replacing front wheel bearings

The center nut is supposed to be torqued to 175 ft-lbs. Then you should stake it too like the factory did.

How many have "dual exhaust" on theirs?

i have done a lot of research into what works for our trucks. If you are looking at a true dual setup (ie, dual pipes all the way from the motor till it exits), then you want to stop at 2.5" pipes. Yes, you can go bigger and net more power, but it is also at the cost of low end torque. This...

    Dash lights are out!

mag, I will bet that your problem lies with the dimmer module in the headlight switch. You can check the fuse for the dash lights, but from what I have seen, when you have a problem like this, it is the dimmer module that fried.

How offroad capable is a stock Expedition?

I have probably pushed this envelope as much as should be done. Now, please keep in mind that I have a slightly modified intake (ie, Gotts mod, cut the cone off the end of the filter so I suck under hood air) but for the most part is it stock. I have had water up to the gap between the top of...

    blown spark plug # 7

I did the Timesert bit to all 8 of my plugs. I will never have to worry about blowing out another plug. Granted, it cost me about $1000, but it was well worth it to have all 8 plug holes fixed properly. Granted, I also took that time and ported/polished the intake/heads and get some more...

99 Expedition leaning like a lowrider

Nathan, crawl under the front of your truck and look at the sway bar link. I bet you will find that the bolt that ties the lower A-arm to the sway bar is broken. A trip to your local auto parts store and about $15 will get you a new link setup. That should fix your leaning issue.

    wire probing

The other method that I would tell you to try is to get yourself a paper clip or a piece of really stiff wire. From there, you can take the wire, make yourself about a 1" long straight section with a little hook on the end. You then slide the straight part into the backside of a plug and then...

    Pic/Info request 1st gen Rancho 4" lift

Swagga, check out http://www.fordtruckworld.com/thermo. There you will find all the info you want to know on my truck. I installed the Rancho kit on my truck and started out on 35x12.5's. But, I have since stepped up to 37x12.5's with only the Rancho lift. But, as you will find out, there...

    2002 Lift

Beachbum, how big of a tire are you wanting to run? That will depict what you can do. Also, how much are you willing to spend to get what you are after? I am currently running 37's with only a 4" suspension lift. Before you get too excited, this is not a simple modification to do to get what...

    HID light question ?

atmasters, the HID bulbs you want will fit into the housings just fine. Just a warning though, the blue bulbs can get you in trouble for "impersonating a police officer". Seen many a ticket get written for those bulbs. Ask the company to show you the DOT stamp for the kit that has the 8000K...

    Exhaust recommendations

cymru, from some research that I have done, if you are looking to get max power without hurting your mileage, then you are going to want to go with either a single 3" exhaust system or a true dual 2.5" setup (both flow the same amount). Then I would say to go with a 50 series muffler (or...

    HID light question ?

atmasters, what you need is what is called a "relay harness". An example would be: H1 H3 H7 H8 H9 H10 H11 9005 9006 HID Relay Kit Harness | eBay You need this for your Ford as the factory wiring harness is not truely designed to handle the starting surge of 35W (not 50W, more on this later)...

2000 Expedition squealing and dimming lights

Sounds like the tensioner is getting weak and is allowing the belt to slip. But, like the others said, if you have fluid on the belt, it can cause it to slip.

    speedo & mileage

Chappy, if you want your speedo calibrated, it is pretty simple. Get out on the highway and set the truck at a given speed (I use 60 mph as it is easy, but you can do it at 70 mph too, probably recommended to do it at the speed that you tend to normally drive). now, find a fairly flat stretch...

    DRL -dash lights

Chappy, you can use any of the lights that come on with the rest of the dash. I was just figuring that the glove box light would be an easy one to access.

    DRL -dash lights

Chappy, if you have the sunroof module, then this can be a very easy modification. All you would need to do is to add in a diode that ran from the pink wire in the overhead console to the blue/red wire for the switch lights. That would give you maximium dash lighting any time the truck was...

New member, have a few questions (EASY IM SURE)

saabkid, you do not want the differential bearing kit. That would be for the pumpkin section of your rear axle or possibly for the differential on the front of your truck. The part you want is either: -NATIONAL Part # R1561TV -NATIONAL Part # RP1561FO You just need to make sure that you tell...

    Is this a members Expy?

RollinKaos, how wide of rims are you looking to run? This is going to be key with whether you will be able to or not. I have managed to run 37's with only a 4" suspension lift on a 4x4 rig. Your 4x2 (2wd) rig sits 4" lower than my rig did stock. So, you are already at a disadvantage per se...

    Question about wheel back spacing

evel, to expound upon what Freeway is talking about, there are two measurements that tire shops use to talk about the same dimension. You have backspacing and you have offset. The difference is in how they are measured. Backspacing is easy to picture. You take a rim, put it face down, put a...

    Question about wheel back spacing

evelknebel, you will always need about 4.5" of backspacing. Whether the tires will rub with a rim like that is a function of how much sidewall and tread width along with how much you have altered the height of the truck. There is no simple answer to a question like you are asking if you are...

    Body Lift inquiry

4x4Ford, I am running 37's on my truck and ran for 6 years on 35's. I ran the 35's with stock gears and I bit the bullet and regeared for the 37's. Looking back, I wish I would have regeared the 35's. Will the truck handle running 35's on the stock 3.73's, sure. Just keep in mind that you...

    Which Expy do I need?

Bigedge02, like others have said, 1st gen is the way to go. The later versions are going to be expensive to go the size that you are after. Now, with what you are after, you are going to need a very specific setup. Trust me. The other members here will back up what I am saying. When running...
