Hey guys...

Need a little help. I want to replace my exhaust from the cat back. I am a newbie but am looking for an aggressive but not offensive sound and really want to just take off the stock exhaust and bolt on. Any suggestions? I also want a system without tips because I want to buy the metal mulisha exhaust tips. I have a 99 eb with 5.4. I have no idea what to get so any links would be great. Also something that is not going to be a ***** to keep if I have to replace the cat in the near future or the headers... Thanks in advance. Pictures and links appreciated. Looking for a good price and again doing this myself no lift so dont want it to be impossible.

cymru, from some research that I have done, if you are looking to get max power without hurting your mileage, then you are going to want to go with either a single 3" exhaust system or a true dual 2.5" setup (both flow the same amount). Then I would say to go with a 50 series muffler (or whatever is the medium restriction muffler that company makes). But, like panda points out, you need to also listen to what a lot of the mufflers sound like. I personally went with the Flowmaster 70 series DIDO muffler as I was after a slightly freer flowing exhaust, but didn't want something that was loud or too free flowing as I wanted something for the low end torque.

If you want me to go into the discussion of why a very free flowing exhaust is bad for a daily driver, I will.

Please do and to the earlier post I am doing it myself or leaving it alone. I don't let anyone work on a 15 year old car that cost me 5k with 67k on it. I am using it as a project. I would like to keep a single pipe system so from the cat back a muffler suggestion and then I will go with the metal mulisha gibson tip. Thanks for all your feedback

cat back? if you are doing it your self and want the easiest way of doing it have a y-pipe back exhaust. its what i have on mine. its easier to do and 2 feet of pipe is not going to make a difference in sound or performance.
