Instrument gauge cluster with tach
1997/98 148,xxx miles. My tach does not work. I bought this from a salvage yard to test my truck. Still no tach but the tach does work on this cluster. My issue is not resolved but must be a broken pink/white wire that sends signal to the tach. The salvage yard would not take back electrical... -
Rear hatch dome light wiring
I would like to be able to leave the rear hatch open for extended periods but don't want the dome lights on. I assume the wiring is in the latch in the door.... right? Anyone know what wire I would switch to disable the dome light?- jrjr

Trailing arms
I received the new ones and am in process of removing old. How did you guys get your bolts out? I have tried beating them, air chisel, impact and turning them, all they do is bounce in the rubber. I was almost thinking about a cutting torch and cut the whole arm and bolt out..... hate to do that...- jrjr

Strange noises!
This first happened a couple weeks ago. It sounded just like the front tire hitting on an inner fender that had come loose and the tire had caught the edge. Tach trouble
Well, when I bought my 97 the prior owner told me that it had an aftermarket alarm system that he had someont remove. When they deleted the alarm system the tach and radio stopped working. Radio I am not worried about now. I just replaced the heater core and blend door so I saw all the wiring...- jrjr

Heater core orings
I have my dash out and the heater core removed.... hope to reinstall it tomorrow. Where did you guys get new orings and that plastic spacer? They may have them in an assortment but past experiences have shown that they never are quite the same size as oem in those kits. Maybe though. Will check...- jrjr

EGR valve
My 97 4.6 threw a p0402 so I figured I would just replace the egr and egr pressure switch and check all the lines in the process. They look to be original and the truck has 130000 on the clock. Blowing out spark plugs
I have read many references here to blown out plugs and I believe it only pertains to 3V 5.4L engines.... Is this assumption correct or do both the 4.6 and 5.4 motors have this issue? Maybe the quote above actually meant 'breaking' plugs when torquing them and not blowing them out of the...- jrjr

2000 Prospect
Hi all, my first post here! Currently I have an Explorer that needs replacing due to rust. I have found a 2000 Expy that I like.
